Linda Manz didn't do a whole lot of films and then seemed to vanish. The two that stand out for me were Days of Heaven and The Wanderers. It does look like she's in The Game. Didn't know that when I ordered it from Amazon so that'll be a added bonus.

OUT OF THE BLUE was her career role.

Started watching Shock Corridor last night. We had to stop 20 minutes in because our baby was particularly unsettled.

Hasn't really grabbed me yet, which makes me question whether we'll go back to it...

All that you say could be true. If only I could figure out how to update the entry with accurate information...

Has there been any rumblings about another BN sale?

Never thought I'd say this but "I hope not soon" Between the flash sale, the recent Amazon sale and other non-Criterion releases I'm pretty well spent out. Just seemed to be more post-Oscar releases this year that I wanted than usual, add in the group of Disney's....well...$$$$

Just finished watching Weekend. I was pretty surprised that I enjoyed it because I'm not really a fan of gay cinema at all. It was definitely a good story with a bigger picture than just these two guys hooking up. They helped each other in different ways throughout the entire film.

World on a Wire, Black Narcissus, Rashomon, The Qatsi Trilogy just arrived to end my Criterion shopping frenzy the last month or so.

Which one should I watch first?

Depends what you're in the mood for.

I've only seen Black Narcissus and Rashomon and I thought both were decent. Black Narcissus is a good psychological drama with some extremely vibrant colors and excellent picture quality for a 1940s film. Rashomon is a good suspense film that examines the murder of a samurai from various perspectives.

I've heard great things about World On A Wire and mixed reviews on Qatsi Trilogy, though. As you're probably aware, one is a sci-fi film and one is a series of documentary films.

Mood matters

I finished watching all five of the Resident Evil Blu-rays. I feel as though I've grown up with those people. Down with the Umbrella Corporation!

It's been a fun distraction, and I look forward to hitting Badlands this weekend, as well as to catching up on other Blu-rays in my collection that I have not yet watched. I'm moving forward quite well, with less than 50 left to watch before I'm totally caught up. I've seen everything before in other formats, except for the two Twilight Time movies (The Big Heat and Rapture) and the two Olive Films titles (Taxi for Tobruk and Green in the Sun) that I blind-bought last week.

I'm kind of in the mood for anything. This is my last chance to watch a movie for hte next two days since I'm working all day tomorrow and Saturday. I won't have an opportunity to put a movie in until Sunday evening. So I guess Qatsi is out of the picture for tonight, World on a Wire has a long runtime. So it's either Rashomon or Black Narcissus.

The Resident Evil series will probably be released as a Criterion box set two or three decades from now.
Stranger. Things. Have. Happened.

No, I just name-dropped it a few days back, because I have been taking a break from Criterions to catch up on some other Blu-rays in my collection. As someone else said here, it's sometimes fun to gauge the non-Criterion fare from people here.

I'm surprised that barebones releases of brisk-running movies like 3 Outlaw Samurai and Letter Never Sent exceed the 25GB margin.

The big 50% off Criterion sales usually happen in July and November.

This will be a big deal for me, because, as a member, I should get 60% off each title.

Criterion usually sends out cool coupons once every month or so for 20% off a Blu-ray, 30% off a Blu-ray, or something like that, and it's enough to steer me in the general direction of a store when there's a Criterion that I'm particularly eager to own.
