Yes, it gets some love. You missed a few pages of posts on Fuller about a month ago. Shock Corridor is brilliantly wicked social critique and satire.
Agreed. That gets me everytime. Great movie.

Britta Phillips and Dean Wareham are both in the movie. I saw them in concert shortly after Britta first joined Dean's band, Luna, about a decade ago.

I knew nothing about Frances Ha until the Criterion hint, but this merits a closer look.

It looks as though today might be the day for me to buy A Man Escaped. Barnes & Noble emailed me a 20% off coupon, so I'll use that along with my members discount on the way home.

They only sent me a 15% off one. I want my extra 5%, lol.

Thanks for that!

By the way, does anybody know if Criterion owns the rights to the Marx Brothers movies?

No, but you're not losing much by opting for streaming or DVD (check your local library). The visual roughness is almost part of the charm.

I think the best place to start (to see if their brand of comedy suits you) is A Night at the Opera, but my personal favorite is Duck Soup.

Check the thread in the Movie Deals forum, because a bunch of other Barnes & Noble members got 15% off coupons and there may be a way to set things right.

Wow! Those extras sound incredible as I have a fondness for those artists.

I've had an urge to pick up a new Criterion title the last few days and had just enough Amazon credit to cover Identification Of A Woman. Never seen it, excited to check it out.

I take it you're well acquainted with Antonioni.

Not really. I've only seen L'avventura.

then I strongly suggest you seek out La Notte, L'Ecclisse, Red Desert, Blow Up, The Passenger and even Zabriskie Point before seeing Identification of a Woman. I wouldn't want you to misread Antonioni. It's like seeing Frenzy before Vertigo or North by Northwest.

They're all on the list and most are of more importance to see before IOAW. The purchase was more of scratching the CC itch than anything haha

I bought A Man Escaped for $27 after the coupon, my members discount, and the 10% off sticker.

When I arrived home, Rosemary's Baby was in my mailbox from the Amazon deal last week.

It was a good day, as Ice Cube might say.

On the downside, I found out upon removing the shrinkwrap from A Man Escaped that the clear plastic case is jacked up, because a piece of it fell off from the bottom of the case. I went to the Criterion site and ordered the 5-pack of replacement cases. I've been meaning to do that for a while now anyway, because it'll be good to have extra cases on hand in the future.

They would've sent you a replacement case free of charge. They sent me one when my Harold & Maude case arrived in pieces, and I didn't even order it through Criterion, but Amazon.

Thanks! I'll remember that for future reference. It'll be good to have five of the cases for now, so that I'll have reserve cases for future purchases. Ever so often, I stumble across a Criterion on the used store racks around here.
