Amazon is showing that Mafioso will be available on the 16th so you should jump on it now. I found it through a 3rd party this morning and it's already shipped so my headache is mostly complete. I just need an Austrailian company I had ordered a copy from to cancel and refund as I requested.

I ordered from B&N, AMAZON and DD....B&N is the first to actually send a "CANCELLED" notice...AMAZON still says it's going to ship, and DD says that they shipped "Le Doulos"....

I have a few Fry's around me and I agree, they have a great selection. Most titles that I could never find in-store. However, they don't price-match Amazon without charging you a mock-shipping fee that you would have to pay on Amazon. I even told the manager I have a promotional Prime membership and he wouldn't budge. Pretty lame considering both Best Buy and Target price-match Amazon now.

I think the most ridiculous thing is B&N doesn't price-match their own website. It makes no sense to me.

Great avatar! Mélanie Laurent is one of my all-time favorites.

If you have any affinity whatsoever for punk rock and offbeat early 1980s cinema, then Repo Man is worth a buy.

Lol? That doesn't even make sense!

Couldn't agree more! Also the little orange block with "Gate Of Hell" is just so hideous and amateurish.

Judging by all the praise it's received, I would advise you to. I personally can't wait for my copy to come in!

Looking forward to watching them all. I can hear my wallet crying in the hallway though..
I'm less concerned about Le Doulos, as it's a DVD and I'm pretty sure that someone will release it on blu ray eventually.

I ordered 3 of the OOPs from Barnes and Noble, only Leon Morin Priest actually shipped. They had to cancel Mafioso and Army of Shadows. Score one for customer service!

For those still hunting for Mafioso, Amazon has em available (right now...)! Just ordered mine after B&N failed me. Actually a great movie, I watched on Amazon Instant Watch (it's free if you have Prime) and really enjoyed it. Very funny take on the cultural differences between Sicilians and northern Italians.

Just finished Naked Lunch and it is, without a doubt, the strangest film I've ever seen, which is something I say after every Cronenberg film that I have watched. Hopefully Criterion announces some more Cronenberg soon!

The transfer on this is just spectacular as well.

It's got me in the mood to watch some of his films that didn't hit me the first time around (Crash, Rabid, Spider, to name a couple). I'll probably get around to a few of them this weekend. Looking at what Cronenberg has and hasn't gotten the blu-ray treatment, I'm surprised something like Fast Company is available but nothing has been done with The Brood or Crash or Spider or.
I was just reading the review of this film here. (The Brood is one of my favorite films of Cronenbergs) When I heard that Criterion was releasing Scanners, it seems to reason that The Brood will not be far behind.

The Umbrella disc looks well done.
