Got this email from B&N today about MAFIOSO...

We apologize, but despite our efforts, we weren't able to fulfill some or all of the items in your order, as noted below. These items have been canceled from your order....

However, I received Leon Morin from AMAZON yesterday...so I got that goin' for me, which is nice..

Amazon is showing that Mafioso will be available on the 16th so you should jump on it now. I found it through a 3rd party this morning and it's already shipped so my headache is mostly complete. I just need an Austrailian company I had ordered a copy from to cancel and refund as I requested.

I ordered from B&N, AMAZON and DD....B&N is the first to actually send a "CANCELLED" notice...AMAZON still says it's going to ship, and DD says that they shipped "Le Doulos"....

So Repo Man comes out tuesday...not sure if I should blind buy it or not. I have a $20 RZ gift card but still. Decisions

I think the most ridiculous thing is B&N doesn't price-match their own website. It makes no sense to me.

No word on the other three OOP BDs I ordered.

Great avatar! Mélanie Laurent is one of my all-time favorites.

If you have any affinity whatsoever for punk rock and offbeat early 1980s cinema, then Repo Man is worth a buy.

I absolutely hate when people write 'could of' instead of 'could've/could have'. It drives me nuts. But it shows up in novels all the time. Even Dashiel Hammett used it in dialogue.

I ordered 3 of the OOPs from Barnes and Noble, only Leon Morin Priest actually shipped. They had to cancel Mafioso and Army of Shadows. Score one for customer service!

For those still hunting for Mafioso, Amazon has em available (right now...)! Just ordered mine after B&N failed me. Actually a great movie, I watched on Amazon Instant Watch (it's free if you have Prime) and really enjoyed it. Very funny take on the cultural differences between Sicilians and northern Italians.

Just finished Naked Lunch and it is, without a doubt, the strangest film I've ever seen, which is something I say after every Cronenberg film that I have watched. Hopefully Criterion announces some more Cronenberg soon!

The transfer on this is just spectacular as well.
