WOW! I just cause quite a issue with my post

I expect that it may well be a good selection of releases but probably nothing that will interest me much. Since the start of 2013 very few selections have been interesting enough for me to purchase. Not bad movies, far from it but nothing I would care enough to have them in my collection.

Curious to see what they will release today.

Even if a release of Roman Holiday by Criterion would be a nice surprise, it would not be my first choice. I would much rather they upgrade City Lights, Picnic At Hanging Rock, Alexander Nevsky and The Hidden Fortress

I both fear and look forward to this day. Looking forward to Andrei Rublev one day, hopefully.

Am I the only one who looks at their Bluray lists, waits for the number to go up, and then looks through page by page to spot the new arrivals? [/dork]

And mine are still Bicycle Thieves, Nights of Cabiria, and Day of the Jackal, with maybe Indochine, Vatel, and Le Hussard Sur le Toit thrown in. It's a little disheartening sometimes to see all the crud that's being regularly released, not Criterion but generally, when there are so many good films out there that need an up-grade. On the other hand, when I look at the number of decent acquisitions I've managed over the past few months, I probably shouldn't complain. Anyway I'll bid you bonne nuit. Demain, c'est un autre jour!

I may complaint about not getting the movies I want but in the end it may well be a good thing. Too many releases at the same moment would make it just heart breaking. No way I could afford all of them and so would need to make choices and then you end up with a chance of something going sold out or out of print. We get impatient at time but it's best for our wallets that they keep releases spread, at least for me cause in recent time I thing many here have been hit hard with wanting almost every new releases

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with the artwork and cover. They just made the damn thing too tight for the film and booklet.

On sort of a similar note, I didn't start buying Criterion blurays seriously until I became a B&N member last July. I may have had 1 or 2 Criterion films in my entire collection at the time ... and that wasn't because they were Criterion films ... it was because I truly loved the films and Criterion happened to be the company releasing them to bluray. Now 9 months later, I have 30-some Criterion blurays with more than half of them waiting to be watched. There are, at the very least, 6 more that I want to pick up during the next B&N 50% off sale.
[Show spoiler](And I ordered all 4 of the recently mentioned OOP titles. I'm seriously questioning whether that was a good move since I'm not very familiar with any of the movies ... but I'd hate to see another The Third Man kind of film pass me by).

So yeah, it can get expensive real fast.

That is always the danger with Criterion as they have movies where rights can shift from one place to another and OOP become an issue. Sellers of course really go for the high prices knowing full well how important these releases are for many. In the end I am happy with one release or two every other month, give me time to see the hit in my wallet coming

Amazon Points to Burn. Need help choosing 2 Criterion's. I also notice the prices vary drastically over the course of a week and seem to be in the higher side now. Will monitor through the week.

On the Waterfront (may wait for price to drop)
Seventh Seal
Revanche
Hunger
Rosemary's Baby

Agreed...I got a pretty good copy from B & N and the cover and design is a lot nicer than I'd imagined it would be. The embossing is such a nice touch that you wouldn't have in a plastic case scenario.

I really highly recommend this film if you like silent films, epics and adventures.
The visual/audio package is fantastic, although the extras are a little light.
I was very impressed with Cohen's work on this...a great release and worthy of inclusion in any serious film lovers collection.

Drives me crazy! Now give me your choices! I'll also take recomendations based on my current Criterions. Link Below.

On the Waterfront is the one of those I am most keen to add to my collection. My favourite title you are missing is Night of the Hunter.
