Weak month. The only one I have mild interest in is The Life of Oharu.

That cover-art for The Devil's Backbone is one of the worst covers they've done.

Many of the features are just ported over from the DVD.

That and The Ice Storm interest me the most.

Unless MoC announce their own release, I'll be getting Life of Oharu.

Really wanted something special for July, but unfortunately the only interesting things are Oharu and possibly The Devil's Backbone. Wanted at least more Fassbinder, Eraserhead, or eve A Brighter Summer Day.

Life of Oharu is certainly the highlight.

Yet another month without an Antonioni upgrade. Criterion, we are no longer friends.

I still prefer March's releases

I'm most interesting in The Devil's Backbone, The Ice Storm, and Lord Of The Flies, though.

Solid month! I picked 2 correctly.

Definitely looking forward to Ice Storm and Devils Backbone (perhaps LOTF), Not sure where all the cover art hate is coming from, I think they look great.

Three more for the wish list. No more BDs until I get my new car, as much as I want some of them. I'll live vicariously through you all during the July sale.

At first glance, it looks as though Lord of the Flies will be the only Day One Priority Purchase of the lot, but these titles all look pretty attractive to me.

(I was writing reviews in the James Bond thread when these announcements were surfacing, so I'm a bit late.)

The cover art for Lord of the Flies is spectacular!

I am excited about all of the titles, but have especially been waiting for The Ice Storm. I still only have the non-Criterion DVD, and am now glad I didn't give in and by the Criterion one.

Devil's Backbone is a day one. I've only seen Lord of the Flies out of the other releases so I'll need to Hulu or Netflix before considering. Any must-buy's from anyone?

Life of Oharu is terrific news, I have been waiting for it for so freakin long ! The rest of the line-up isn't something to set things on fire but still pretty good. I guess June was so strong that July inevitably needed to step back . The fact that there is no Eclipse set is bugging me beyond reason. I was one of the greatest supporters of that label and Criterion just abandoned it in 2013. So much interesting stuff can be put on Eclipse that it is a real shame we are getting none in July. A middle-of-the-road month for me but Life of Oharu will be "Release of the Year" material. Lets hope Criterion makes it 3 Mizos before the end of the year .

It is!

Although I don't like the film so I'm going to pass on the release....but the cover is undeniably excellent.

Just one more time, because it rules all.

[Show spoiler]

I knew that this Blu-ray was coming, as we all did, but I'm really pumped after seeing the cover art.

I did a massive book report on the novel, Lord of the Flies, in middle school, and it was one of my favorite childhood books. (Yes, I'm strange that way.)
I am pleased to upgrade my Essential Art House DVD of this movie at long last.
