It happened quite often in the Movie and TV deals forum. I'd click into threads I normally wouldn't click into just for random interest and see someone make a MasturB reference. Or I'd go a few days without clicking and reading a thread and see it's gotten 5 extra pages since I last read it and see my name mentioned somewhere.

So....now all they have to do is actually release Pulp Fiction, and Criterion can offer the "Stole the Radioactive Suitcase from Kiss Me Deadly" Trilogy Box.

I'm actually used to all this unwanted attention...

In high school I used to be the first to get to class, put my head down and sleep before the bell even rang and wake up at the end of class in almost every class, and when I'd wakeup or when in the hallway during the class changeover I'd have people come up to me asking about wild rumors regarding me I'd never even heard of or have no idea how they even began.

And that's WITHOUT people in the real world knowing my alter ego/pseudonym was MasturB.

I need to create a music video for Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and Derek Jarman's Sebastiane because at the end of the movie it doesn't matter if Sebastiane loves him or capital h-i-m.

Interesting.

No criterion release/blu-ray for Zero?

I see If... has one. Just read the premise. Has jumped up on my priority list.

I thought you would have went with Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I think the ones people would be most offended by are Bob Le Flambour set to "Poker Face" and Brief Encounter set to "You & I."

It's in the Jean Vigo set, which is essential!

It was a rather simple plot, but it was a fun little, short movie. I really liked the directing and the vibrant colors in the film. If the average person didn't know better, they would have thought it was filmed a lot later than the 1960s.

A lot of the directing seemed to mirror some of the directing from Tarantino's Kill Bill films, minus all of the silhouette fighting.
I thought this movie was all fun, and although I've got no real interest in Asian pop, I liked the little song we hear as the guy drifts. I've been putting a playlist on my mp3 player of music I've heard in films and that I liked, so I tried to find that song. I think the song was a commercial tie-in to the movie, but you can't find the music on any of the sights I looked at, though I finally found a different version of it. Then I thought I'd look for the whistled version of In the Hall of the Mountain King from M. Creepy. But I had to settle for some minor key piano version.

Which made me wonder if Criterion couldn't start it's own music site of music from its movies. I wonder how much of this music isn't available? Of course, there would be major rights issues to resolve, but it would be nice.

Watched Marienbad today. I found it really rough to watch and was not very interested. The last 20 minutes or so were engaging, but it honestly took a lot of effort for me to sit through that 90something minute movie. I guess I like it more for its influence (definitely on 8 1/2 and David Lynch) than for what it actually is. Still, gonna sell my copy once it arrives!

On a serious note, I do love Assayas' films, so I would have seen/ordered it anyways somewhere down the line.

I finished watching it tonight on youtube. I kind of liked it. But when I look at the number of unwatched blurays that I have (Criterion and otherwise) I wonder if I really need to own it. (... Just imagining the little devil on my shoulder whispering in my ear "Take it! Take it! ... It's only one more". )

I showed Zéro de conduite to Mrs Drbikeshorts over the weekend. Such a great film.
You're right - I'd consider The Complete Jean Vigo set to be essential.
