You're the perfect candidate No offense, you can also ogle the gorgeous victoria's secret hosts.

If you liked Gus van Sant's Milk, you will love The Times of Harvey Milk.

been looking at La Dolce Vita and Amarcord especially since Amarcord is a single digit spine number.

I am pretty much unphaseable when it comes to how decadent a movie is. I would be fully unphaseable but then I watched Salo for the first time.

haha and I still need to see the Gus Van Sant movie about Harvey Milk. Stuff like that interests me because of the political nature of the subject manner and the circumstances of his murder and the subsequent trial of the Dan White(I am a bit of a history buff too).

On the dvd side I have been considering General Idi Amin Dada.

I love film in general but always have a soft spot for documentaries too.

Another question I had was after seeing 8 1/2 what should be the next Fellini film I get from the collection?(preference to blu-ray but will get a dvd copy if there isn't a blu release)
Not Criterion, but I enjoy Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, Searching For Sugarman, and Resurrect Dead. Make sure not to watch any trailers for Sugarman though. Would wreck it a little bit.

hahaha it was easier to not feel dirty after watching a movie like Cannibal Holocaust or Irreversible than it was with Salo.

I'll probably never see Salo, unless one is readily available online. I don't want to fork out money to purchase a physical copy of a movie that I will, in all likelihood, only watch one time. This will probably be one of those Criterions that eludes me, but that's alright.

I found a copy used at my local Saturday Matinee and I bought it right away probably because of all I heard about the movie. Such a double edged sword with that movie. On one hand it's really well made on the other hand...holy crap.

I know some disliked the structure of the film (once you see it, youll know what I mean), but it features a great performance by Sean Penn, impressive recreation of Castro Street/ retro San Francisco, and a pretty balanced portrait of the man.

Oh man, I loved Sugarman (and Ai Wei Wei, for that matter), but it turns out they omitted a whole load of relevant information on his life.

I should probably change my username from "The Great Owl" to "The Great Chicken", given my reluctance to watch Salo. I've just never felt a pressing need to satisfy the curiosity, though.

Never seen 'Holocaust, but may have to in prep for Eli Roth's Cannibal film to be released later this year.

I'd nab Irreversible on Blu without hesitation.

As for Salo, what makes it so terrible (and great) is how Pasolini implicates you from the space, and never gives you the opportunity to bask or get a thrill off the grotesque-ery.

Yea Sean Penn is always great. It looked like an interesting movie when I saw the trailers just have so many I wanted to see first I missed out on it when it was in theaters.

The way you are with Salo is the way I am with A Serbian Film.

As long as you truly believe Fascism was a bad thing, I think you'll do fine without watching it. I don't think it's a despicable film, but Sometimes it felt like preaching to the choir.

Now, that one, I will not touch. Especially after hearing about the contents of the film (which sound exploitative and pointless to say the least).

Yea and the only time Salo gives you time to breathe once everything kicks in is after the movie is over.

Eli Roth is doing a Cannibal film?
