It could be because they list them as IMPORTs right now. I bet if they add their own individual listing for them, they'll start out cheaper.

Still, I'll get them during the BN.com sale and wait the month and a half for them to deliver.

Default It kills me to look at Criterions I want to purchase.

I have bought 90% of my Criterion Collection Blu-rays at the bi-annual Barnes and Noble July and November sales. It has been just under five months since the end of the last sale...and I have just under three months to wait for the beginning of the next one. Every time a Criterion that I want to purchase is released, I hoard the amount of money that I would spend on it now, so that when the sale comes, I can get it for half off, plus my 10% Membership and whatever coupon I can use. The result is that I can purchase at least twice the number that I would have been able to purchase when originally released.

But, it is hard, as I am having difficulty waiting for:

Badlands
On the Waterfront
Repo Man
The Tin Drum
A Man Escaped
Sansho the Bailiff

and
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp

Anyway, in case anyone wants to order it. Here I thought I was all caught up on OOPs when I ordered Mafioso and Withnail & I the other day.
Amazon.ca still show one left and few available at pretty good prices still used and new. If anyone is looking for this before the prices go up like they always do

Love Pale Flower. So underrated.

Also add Kuroneko to your list. One of the most sublime openings IMO.

Might as well add Tokyo Drifter to the list if you like Branded to Kill. I didn't care for it much, but also I didn't appreciate Branded to Kill as much on my first viewing so maybe its time to revisit it.

Not to over repeat other posts, but Harakiri is a must own.

Oh me neither! But she was a fine, fine actress and that's what I was referring to.

I hear ya. I got Waterfront and Sansho during the Flash sale, but I really want Life and Death, Repo Man, and Badlands. I'm sure there's others I want as well and its only going to get worse by the time July gets here!

Army of Shadows Criterion blu ray is somewhat reasonably priced at barnes & noble for $39.99. I only say reasonably priced because its going for a lot more other places.

Criterion should come up with a subscription service and a better way of notifying real Criterion fans when something is going OOP.

I got my copy of Le Cercle Rouge in today from Importcds, and it is in a standard blue blu-ray case, not the criterion case. It is sealed (or resealed) and has the criterion art. Not impressed.

Odd, my copy of Godzilla I got from them was in relatively good shape and was new/sealed. Real slow shipping though.

They're usually pretty reliable. I would keep it sealed until you see what (if anything) they can do. If it turns out inventory issues keep ImportCDs from replacing it you can contact Criterion directly.

They're usually pretty good about stuff like this. They might not be willing/able to send a booklet but they might be able to send you the case/artwork.

Can either of you post a picture of it? There must be something going on for more than one person to receive it in wrong packaging.
