A new print of Un Flic, eh? My pulse just quickened.

I love my Un Flic DVD, but I'd love to upgrade it.

As for me, The Original Star Trek films will have to suffice.
I was actually thinking about the film Head. Because, y'know, the title, and the fact it was written by the Monkees, Bob Rafelson, and Jack Nicholson was smoking a whole whack of the stuff in Oja.

I doubt 4/20 celebrations would make A Safe Place anymore watchable.

It's something pot related. I've heard the story a few times from people, but it always seems to get variations along the way.

This might help

Here I thought you were referring to Easy Rider.

I just finished watching "The Wages Of Fear".

It was an excellent suspense film and it really got me engaged in the movie. I could feel my heart pounding at certain points of the film and I would even start screaming at the screen haha.

I really liked the buildup in the first hour of the film, followed by the amazing journey until the very end. I really can't wait to see Sorcerer when it's released on Blu-ray, as it's apparently a decent remake.

Same here, because I've never tried it.

We could, however, all fast forward to the part where people supposedly get hungry after the fact, and just watch Babette's Feast.

EDIT: I've been to so many concerts in my life, however, that I've had the secondhand smoke experience quite a few times, whether it was from friends in my crowd or from strangers near me at the shows.

I will say that Ron Slater in Dazed and Confused is one of my favorite characters in that movie. "That's what I'm talkin' about!"

Isn't it amazing? The Wages of Fear is such a treasure of a film. I posted a review of it on my Facebook wall a few months back, and several friends have thanked me after the fact for recommending it.

I cannot wait for Sorcerer on Blu-ray.

Tell me about it! I still remember my first snif of it ever back in 1981

Trying to decide between Repulsion and The Rules of the Game. I know they're very different but which would you choose?

Rules of the Game is surely more of a groundbreaker, but I can see people getting more value out of Repulsion

You know how people will watch Citizen Kane and post stuff like 'yeah, I guess it was good enough and I suppose I can see why people like it but I don't really get all the best movie ever talk'.

That's me and The Rules of the Game. It's not that I didn't like it, I just didn't really see what all the fuss is about. Very good movie? Definitely. One of the top ten films of all time? Sight and Sound respondants seemed to think so, maybe I'll catch up with them someday.

As for Repulsion, I love Polanski when he does't suck (*cough*vampirekillersninthgatemuchofghostwriter *cough*) and Repulsion is definitely one of the times he doesn't suck. It's a little rough but very good overall. And it's very much 'what you see is what you get'.

btw, if you haven't gotten Pale Flower yet you should wait on these two and just get that

Oh, thank you Pat! That makes me very happy. I can't pretend that I didn't do a little experimentation with various substances back in the day (think Vancouver in the '70's!) but I did have to google this...

Ron Slater is my favorite historian.

This scene from the movie cracks me up hard. Mila Jovovich's reaction to the lighter is classic. Happy 4/20 Day to all the tokers of the world.

I ordered the recently OOP title Le Cercle Rouge from ImportCDs and got what appears to be a bootleg or at the very least a used copy. It is shrink-wrapped but packaged in a standard blue-colored Blu-Ray case - not the thicker clear case that Criterion Blus come in. The cover insert doesn't fit well and so it looks like the insert was cut to size. Has anyone experienced something like this ? I don't think Criterion would ever package the title this way. But then again the title is OOP and so if the disc inside is OK should I just keep it ?
