Maybe I'm looking into it too much, but it won't go in any further and it's not bent or odd shaped like some DigiPacks.

Yep and importcds and deepdiscount ship from the same warehouse, so no surprise there.

Thanks for the pic.

Have you gone through the extras? They sound fantastic.

Booklet tears doesn't necessarily mean used or fraudulent. I've been collecting Criterions for years and have received many torn booklets and also booklets with pages missing, missing booklets altogether. Their manufacturing company has quality control issues at least sometimes.

I hope to watch them a bit later. I just finished the film a couple hours ago. While it's an enjoyable film for sure, the main aspect I liked (loved, really) was the cinematography (which I expected to ahead of time, anyway). I must have a thing for night-time car scenes. If it weren't for that, I would have grown slightly tired of what I felt was a too-often repetitive plot and lack of consistent humor. Just me, though.

They're pretty fantastic. I can't say I cared for the Missing Scenes one, but that's just because of how obnoxious Alex Cox comes across in it. Everything else, except the commentary, which I haven't listened to, is top notch though.

I watched the first forty-five minutes or so on TCM a while back and I have to say, it's slowly moving from maybe to strong maybe. There are a lot of things ahead of it but I can see it being an impulse buy now.

I was thinking about picking up the region-free blu-ray of Sunrise from Amazon, but with what I am reading here regarding the Criterion JP Mellville oop films, I am now hesitant to make the purchase.

I just watched Melville's Le Doulos and all the extras on the dvd. I must say it is one of my favorite Melville films. I'm kind of a sucker for gangster films in general anyway but the way the story weaves and twists is just very entertaining and keeps your attention throughout. If you haven't done so I would definitely recommend you pick this up or borrow a copy to watch it sometime.

Amazon has never done me wrong before, just for the record. I've been burned once by a third-party Amazon dealer (with a CD, not with a movie), but Amazon fulfillment orders have always been spot-on during the 14 years or so that I've been doing business with the website.

The first thirty minutes is the most indulgent part of the film, but my God is it magnificent.

They've been excellent with me too but all this complaints have me a little worried about my CC OOP titles that I purchased.

To me the wedding in a lot of way is The Deer Hunter and I've never really understood the people who thought it dragged the film down.

After watching that graduation I understood them a lot better.

But once the young men took Horace Greely to heart? Yeah, I might not have been hooked exactly but I definitely want to see where it went. And I absolutely didn't mind a bit that it was taking its time getting there.

In fact, thinking about it now I must have watched a little over an hour because I was a little surprised at how much more quickly the time passed once it settled in.

my copy of Last Year at Marienbad has still not shipped from Amazon...does that mean there is pretty much no hope of me getting a copy?

I was leery of my 2 OOP JP Melville titles from Amazon being possibly re-shrink wrapped copies for reasons already discussed in past posts. All of my concerns turned out to be for no reason, as the unwrapped blurays look wonderful. I would not hesitate to order from Amazon again. (In fact I did just that by ordering Last Year at Marienbad within the last couple of days). And even if a problem or concern would arise, Amazon's Customer Service staff seems to be very good in helping customers work through any problems.

Hey that's fantastic!
I'd better send him my list of 10-15 blu-rays to pick up during the next B&N sale so that he can send them to me in Australia
