I will propose a month schedule for May and I would like your opinions on it. As Abdrewes has stated, we need to begin the first month with a bang. We also need to ween these people into the collection, too. With that being said, here are my choices.

Week 1: The Game
Week 2: Belle De Jour
Week 3: The 400 Blows
Week 4: Seven Samurai
Week 5: 12 Angry Men
You're beginning with a Bang and a Wean, and putting Seven Samurai FOURTH?
(Oh, wait, sorry--Fincher-is-god fanboy. Forgot. )

Do you guys have a google account (gmail etc)?

Google docs is a brilliant way to keep something like this contained easily.

I've been really wanting to see Chungking Express, but it is out of print - Doesn't that make it maybe a little difficult for a newbie to join in? I mean, if part of the point is to encourage new/curious viewers?

Oh, well, that doesn't help we international viewers, but I'm OK with missing weeks that I can't get a hold of the movies due to the tyranny of distance.

I know - It's maddening. But I guess it would mean a lot of extra work negotiating international rights if they spread out.

The chips are pretty stacked against me getting the movies easily - Perhaps I should cede my position to another person in the US and just play along where possible...

Well, it's not my preferred way to go, but I also won't pretend I'm above it. It's hard to hold out when you try so hard to do the right thing, but it's kept out of your grasp...

It's Louis Malle channeling Lewis Carroll; think of Alice in Wonderland re-imagined for the sexual revolution and the 1970s, against a backdrop of an ultimate war between the sexes, when a young teenage girl trying to escape the conflict falls down the rabbit hole. The film is rich with metaphors of a girl's sexual awakening and homages to Carroll. Lily navigates a tortuous path toward her own understanding of impending womanhood, in a Wonderland filled with Carroll-like nonsensical characters rich with satire and symbolism and sometimes nothing at all.

I greatly enjoyed Black Moon. It is both ahead of its time and dated by the pasage of time. I won't go so far to call it brilliant, but it is damn close.
