Then again, I haven't seen a lot of important and contemporary films! lol
I've seen pretty much the bulk of important films: for example I've seen the big DW Griffith movies (Intolerance, Birth of a Nation, Broken blossoms, etc) but I haven't seen much of his minor work (Abraham Lincoln, Kind Heart Suzie, etc)

I was looking at the list of 1001 Movies to see Before You Die the other day, and it turns out I'm only missing about 200 or so.

Couldn't agree more. As nice as this big discussion thread is, it's often difficult to keep on topic. With the weekly thread, it'll be more organized and insightful!
You know what's gonna be great, when we get to Salo or "Senses". It'll be great to discuss those at length. (Ill try my best to rewatch Salo)

That's actually really impressive for someone our age....you're certainly the only one I know.

Jesus haha. I have a lot of films, but I never get around to watching them.

Most of the films on the 1001 list I have probably owned in the past. With all of my DVDs and Blu-rays combined, I had about 4500. I sold the majority of my DVDs and a large chunk of my Blu-rays.

I've been going through the Blu-ray.com database of every Blu-ray and adding them to my Wish List and when I finish, I'll go through and delete ones that don't appeal too much to my tastes.

I'm Telling you, I really neglect my studies. I probably read more J Rosenbaum than my actual textbooks/lecture notes.

Yes, another excellent film.

I love the structure in his films, as well.

A lot of people don't read their boring studies as much as their leisure material.

I think that's one of the most beautiful films made in recent years.

Yep, I've had my share of those moments as well. To be fair to the others though, Naked Lunch is definably inexplicable. Someone could give you their best interpretation, but it's unlikely that it would be of any use. I actually forgot that one for my dislike list! What was your conclussion on that one?

Yeah, the first time I saw that one I left baffled and cold. I found it to be impenetrable, but who knows I may warm up to it. I did like Cosmopolis and A Dangerous Method after all.

Hopefully well discuss a bunch of 2013 titles after the B&N sale.

That's pretty much how I felt. I haven't seen either of those, but I have seen The Fly and Videodrome the latter of which is in my top 20.

I will be happy to talk about all of the movies I pick up after the sale and believe me there will be alot of them.

Definitely. There's a whole load of 2013 releases I need to get.

I'm tempted to buy Badlands for $25 after U&S, by the way.

Couldn't blame you there, I almost bought it the day it came out when I saw it at Best Buy. I'm going to wait for the sale myself and cross my fingers for a good coupon.
