No offense, but from all those choices to vote for none of them are killer, that are drop everything. I voted for Enfants. but I wish they had better choices... but i figure the more relevant ones they know they will release.

Is For All Mankind redundant if you already have When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions?

I voted for it as well. Au Revoir Les Enfants is one damn fine piece of film making.

+1 (Haven't seen Au Revoir yet, so went with one of the others, almost went with Picnic.)

IMHO Picnic at Hanging Rock was a very poor movie. Dont understand the Criterion connection.

It's an interesting early film of a director who would become a master. At Picnic you see a director with right instincts, but there are flaws.

I want Picnic, but I much prefer The Last Wave.

There was much to tingle the mind and provoke thought and conversation, for sure. Many elements drew me in strongly, but then it became messy (best way I can describe it) then it drew me in again, repeat, repeat. I think I am always harshest on movies where I see tremendous potential, and then feel like they missed their target.

So I pre-ordered "In the Realm of the Senses" from Criterion.com a while back (the day pre-orders came back up), and I have yet to recieve a notice that it had shipped. On the website it's states on on pre-orders that "the title will ship by: release date". In this case the release date was yesterday, april 28th, correct?

Do you think I should email criterion and complain? I mean, it's only a day (so far) and I don't have the time to watch it now, so I don't really care when it gets here. I just thought it strange.

Any opinions?

Just posted this in another thread:

You have to sign up for The Auteurs (basically, Criterion's community site), which is free. So do it! Then decide if it's worth the $20 to see it in high-def! Trust me, though, Criterion is just as consistent as Disney when it comes to amazing Blu-ray releases.

For anyone who thanks me: you're welcome.
EDIT: This is part of their monthly festival, 'April 2009: Great Documentaries'. There are 6 films per festival per month. Check the rest out here: http://www.criterion.com/festival

So I watched In The Realm of The Senses yesterday. I have to say that it's the 1st Criterion Blu-ray that I really did not like the movie. I don't really see the point in the film. Maybe I need to watch it again to appreciate it more.

I'd like to throw my two-cents into the Criterion Blu-ray "wish-list" by saying that I'd like to see Nicolas Roeg's "Walkabout" soon...! (Altman's "3 Women" would be another beaut in Blu-ray.... So would Fellini's "8-1/2" and a 50th anniversary release of "La Dolce Vita"....) Admit it, there's just too many titles that should be on Blu-ray NOW...! (Esp. considering all the crap that gets released in Blu these days....)
