I did get rid of a few though, specifically SteelBooks and DigiBooks. I'll see what's remaining and let you know after.
Thanks.

It may not be cheaper, but I'm whittling away on titles each month via PMing Amazon and Walmart and using BB Reward Zone certs. Add in the occasional sale from another company and I've whittled it down so far to needing to pick up the May, June, July titles plus 2 April ones. I'm trying to relieve the need to buy so many at once in July because this year I may not have as much cash in July.

He's become what Ben Affleck used to be before Affleck stepped behind the camera.

Not really. His last few performances have been decent.

Yes, as a filmmaker, he has become rather blank and parenthetical lately...Honest of him to admit it like that, right out in front of the movie.

Have you seen Soldier of Orange Owl? I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like it would be up your alley.

[Show spoiler] I think you will really take to Jeff Nichols' Mud. It reminded me of Stand by Me
Thanks for the Mud recommendation. I've been reading great things, and it does seem right up my alley from the reviews.

I've never seen Soldier of Orange. Rutger Hauer is an incredible actor, though.

12 days until August announcements!

What are you guys anticipating? I'm personally feeling Boy and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou being announced.

Please, no.

Have you seen the film Scott? It's easily his most divisive.

I've got 21 unwatched Blu-rays left to watch. Well, 22 after I hopefully buy Sweet Smell of Success on the way home. I'm moving forward fast, and enjoying it, though. When I catch up, I'll just have time free for reading a few books that I want to read, and such, but I'll always be buying and watching Blu-rays, as well as revisiting everything in my current collection.

There's nothing that I want to throw out in my collection, because most of my Blu-ray purchases were upgrades of essential favorites that I owned on DVD, so everything is there to stay.

Oh, I'm going to keep harping on them until we get Le Samouraï and The Vanishing on Blu-ray.

I'm expecting an announcement of Tess at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Here's hoping there's some Cronenberg on the horizon...

I haven't, despite owning the Criterion DVD. The film doesn't really seem too interesting, in my opinion, which probably why I've been so hesitant on seeing it. I will definitely purchase the Blu-ray if and when it is announced, plus it'll give people a reason to stop talking about it.

I'm rewatching films even if I've seen them recently, just to stick with the program. I rewatched 3 Days of the Condor the other night and I really enjoyed it a lot more on the second viewing.

A lot of my purchases have been blind buys, recommended to me by fellow film lovers on this forum, plus just my own perusing on IMDB and Amazon.

I would love to have all three of them on Blu-ray. I haven't seen Tess, but I am a big Polanski film and enjoy his works similarly. Again, I own The Vanishing on the Criterion DVD, but I haven't gotten around to seeing it. I really enjoy Melville so I will welcome Le Samourai with welcome arms any day.

Scanners was hinted via the New Years drawing this year, but I wouldn't mind seeing Crash or Dead Ringers, either.

Iscottie, Life Aquatic is very similar to Darjeeling Limited, so you may like it.

Even though I haven't seen it either, the ones I have seen I've hated...so I'm pretty sure I don't want to see any others.

They may be decent but people seem to be avoiding his movies.

I think Joseph Gordon Levitt often gets a free pass. He's been in some stinkers lately.

Hmm...well, I guess I'll check it out then.

My favorite one by Anderson was hands down Fantastic Mr. Fox. Such a fun little film.

It's not necessarily a good thing, but yes, those two films (his worst) are as much a piece as say, Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore (his best).

My top three by him are FMR, TDL, and TRT.
