Well, I guess we can officially rule out Criterion Blu's of Time Bandits, The Long Good Friday, Mona Lisa, Withnail and I, and How to Get Ahead in Advertising (the latter of which was OOP already anyway).

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=4306

Of course, this may actually allow the DVD of How to Get Ahead in Advertising go back in print since Image and Criterion are so closely connected.

This might have already been answered, but does anyone know how much longer the 25% off code will last?

In other news, I purchased The Seventh Seal and For All Mankind yesterday, Criterion BD's 3 and 4 for me!

Image Entertianment dist. Criterion's releases so these could be re-issued thru Criterion, keep in mind Criterion lost Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein to Image, and image was able to re-issue them with commentary tracks and 16:9 transfers just bad looking cover art was the downside.

In fact it could be a good thing for Image to now own rights to Time Bandits, it may give Criterion a way to re-issue and release BD for it in 16:9 since their DVD version is NOT 16:9.

If done right I would buy Mona Lisa and Long Good Friday on BLU.

Image had acquired 8 1/2 and Last Emperor. Both came to Criterion and Image released their own versions.

I guess it really comes down to if Image wants to release the titles for themselves or if they want to work with Criterion for them to release them.

Arrrgh! I wish I waited. I paypaled Criterion back in November and although they promptly sent me the Third Man case, they still owe me cases for 400 Blows, Last Metro and Chungking Express. This is getting ridiculous and I've sent a couple emails politely asking for an ETA that have been ignored.

Wow, that's terrible! Sounds like you've had the worst experience, yet. My first case took about a month. I later ordered all 9 (one extra for Benjamin Button) and that order took 3 weeks. I know there's a phone number somewhere in this thread, maybe do a search and see if you can get a hold of someone that way... anything over 3 months is ridiculously overdue.

AFS is the coupon code that'll take 25% off Criterion store's prices.

I have the Anchor Bay Long Good Friday which is an improvement on the Criterion disc. Mona Lisa badly needs an update too. I have a terrible weakness for British gangster and I would buy both of these on Blu in a second.

Yayyy... My replacement discs finally shipped today. Only own four of the movies but I figured it was better ordering all 9 of them now since I'll get them all eventually.

Also ordered Bottle Rocket today. Finally saw the movie on IFC and really enjoyed it.

I apologize if this has been brought up already, but does anyone know how long Criterion's 25% off code will be active for?

Default Pierrot le fou (Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray] (1965)

Amazon USA is showing Pierrot le fou (Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray] (1965) in stock for $36.49 with shipping within 2 - 3 days.

I have also just noticed Criterion have it listed as a stock item @ $26-96. Have I missed something as I was under the impression it was OOP. Unfortunately they don't ship to Australia, so I have had to order via Amazon at the higher price!

Cheers,

Alan

The main reason I bought my OPPO BDP-83 (setup for multi-region) was so I could buy Criterion Blu Rays as I am located here in Australia. Land of Region "B".

Default Target & Criterion

Thought some might find this helpful. I was at my local Best Buy yesterday and they already had the Yojimbo/Sanjuro and Days of Heaven blu ray on the shelf, under C of all places. The list price of Yojimbo/Sanjuro is $59.99 however on the website it is $49.99, I kindly informed the cashier the price online, he looked up and they matched the online price no questions asked.

Further, Days of Heaven is listed at Best Buy (both online and at the store) for $34.99. I want the blu but not at that price so I started looking up brick and mortar stores to see if I could find a price match to present to Best Buy. As a shot in the dark I went to Target's website and to my delight they have Yojimbo/Sanjuro listed for $48.96 and Days of Heaven listed for $27.96.

For those who live in states where Amazon charges sales tax and can find these disks early at the local Best Buy can use Target's prices to price match at Best Buy and obtain the disks for a great price. Going at lunch to pick up Days of Heaven!
