Just finished watching The Man Who Knew Too Much. Am I the only one who thinks Ramon the assassin looks like Quagmire from Family Guy?

I've never seen an episode of Family Guy before. The Man Who Knew Too Much is an outstanding Criterion, though. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, because I've been watching some other Hitchcock films this week.

If you wait two months, it can be had for $5 less at B&N.

I have an opportunity to snag either Broadcast News or Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence for cheap at a used DVD store near here. Which one of these would you get?

Depends, do you want a crowd pleaser (News) or something more esoteric (Lawrence)?

With announcements only a few days away it's time to annoy everyone with Life Aquatic yet again!

August is shaping up to be pretty stellar for them however. Hopefully they can top the awesome that was July.

I'm still surprised Y Tu Mama Tambien hasn't been announced yet.

Yeah what is the deal there? I notice every so often a title will be teased then will fade into oblivion. I'm sure there is a reason behind it but I guess I would just like a little more transparency from Criterion on things like that if at all possible.

The smoke and mirrors guessing game they have us playing every month is fun and all but it gets tiresome sometimes.

Quite recently I obtained the new Oppo-103 player, along with a modification kit that makes it region free (no opening of the system necessary!)

I've ordered about 12 combined titles from the BFI, MOC, and Criterion. I'm so ready for this summer. I'm so ready guys, and I'm glad I can be a part of the discussion.

I made it all the way to the end of Airport (1970) before I realized that Jean Seberg of Godard's Breathless was the actress for one of the prominent roles (Tanya Livingston) in the film. Shame on me for not being as observant as I should have been, but, in all fairness, Jean Seberg looks considerably different in Airport than she does in Breathless. She's quite lovely in both roles, of course.

Just goes to show that we can pretty much make Criterion topics out of almost any film.

Maybe they're still pooling together the extras or something. Cuaron has been busy these past few years with Gravity so yeah. Who knows.

Cuaron is also producing and directed the pilot for the new NBC series BELIEVE. Do out later this year. The show follows a young girl with special powers who is being protected by an ex convict. Interesting. I still hold high hopes that Criterion will still release Y Tu Mama Tambien. Gravity looks great also.

I too anxiously await a BluRay release. Considering Olive is releasing more foreign films (announced 2 Godard films last month), I'd love to see them take it on.
so that's an HDTV transfer that you've seen...?
Turkish Delight hasn't been so far released on blu-ray.......in any country....? ?

I don't doubt that it won't be released by them eventually, it's just a little odd that it hasn't been announced, especially when it was teased awhile back now. And I agree, Gravity looks fantastic.
