Blu-ray Archduke

I just finished watching Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca, and the Blu-ray is perfect. I've always loved Hitchcock's movies with Selznick productions. A shame that Criterion did not keep them, but the current releases do justice to the films.
Whenever I watch Rebecca, I always find myself hoping that the main characters lived happy lives after the events in the film. They seemed like good people who deserved a break after all of the hassles that they went through. Rebecca has never been one of my favorite Hitchcock offerings, but it is still a superb work of cinema across the board. Onward to Hitchcock's Spellbound. |

Just know it's much more conceened with cinema's static potential. Static isn't a word I would use to describe Antonioni.

The remake of Dawn of the Dead is the only Zack Snyder film that I can tolerate anymore*, and this is mostly because of Sarah Polley's acting. * I'll probably give Man of Steel a chance, though. |

Sarah Polley is awesome, and that list only confirms it. Most of the lists celebrities give to that site are a joke. I watched Away from Her earlier today for the first time. She's a real talent. I can't wait for Stories We Tell.
Wouldn't mind a Blu-ray release for The Sweet Hereafter. ![]() |

re: 2001 it's one of the few movies where you have to read the book to really understand. Clarke & Kubrick both created the story simultaneously. a feat i dont think has been replicated since (correct me if i'm wrong). they both came up with the story and Clarke wrote the book while Kubrick did the film.
the book+film are required companion pieces of one another. watching the film helps you understand the book and vice versa. |

The Sweet Hereafter is not my favourite of his films, but I can't wait for Exotica and The Adjuster. I'll probably give The Sweet Hereafter another go some time... |

Sony's taking a rather long time to announce Amour for blu ray. Suspicious?
