That being said I hope they do release Life Acquatic and Le Samurai so that crowd gets what theyve been wanting
Then there is the Eraserhead crowd, the Scanners crowd, the Brood Crowd ( I bet these are October releases)
Ill take Foreign Correspondent, thank you
There's plenty wrong with it. Every single month, when their desired title isn't announced, they're vocal and obnoxious about the fact that it's not there.

"No Life Aquatic? This month BLOWS. What the hell, Criterion?"

They're insufferable. You'll get the title. Calm down. It's one god damn title. It doesn't discredit the entire month of (probably) better films. They don't owe you a thing.

Nah. I want a lot of titles, but I'm not constantly vocal about it day after day. It's certain titles that get this treatment.

I dunno I think this is a place specifically to be enthusiastic about film where one could not be so normally. So I don't mind when people get vocal, I like to see that enthusiasm. On the other hand I can see it coming off as an annoyance if it is dominating the conversation but I don't see that happening too much here. The 15th always warrants enthusiasm and excitement.

Full disclosure this is coming from a person who is wanting Life Aquatic.

I like enthusiasm, too. Some people just take it to the extreme (discrediting an entire month because that title isn't on there). The 15th does warrant enthusiasm; I look forward to this day each month. Every other day, on the other hand, does not. Appreciate what they're giving you. Don't act like a close-minded "film buff" that wants a title that would more than likely get an adequate treatment elsewhere. And no, this has nothing to do with my opinion on Life Aquatic (I don't hate it). Months that get Bergman, Leigh, and Mizoguchi get brushed off from these people because there's not that one Anderson or Malick title.

Don't get me started on the constant desire for The Fountain or The Tree of Life.

But Tree of Life may be a directors cut!

What time does Criterion typically announce these new titles on Facebook?

I'm always up for some good bleak science fiction circa late 1960s/early 1970s. Seconds looks right up my alley.

Seconds sounds like an awesome release. I wonder if Criterion would announce two Paramount titles* in one month? Don't Look Now, anyone?...Of course, they might wait until the October announcements for that one.

* I'd also be happy with Nashville, Targets, or The Tenant.
