Everlasting Moments might be one of the most overlooked "modern" releases from Criterion. While it definitely lacks focus at certain points, I couldn't help but be completely mesmerized the entire time. I don't think it needed to be 2+ hours, especially since there were a few pieces that got introduced and rarely brought up again, but at the same time, I didn't feel that its run time damaged the film in the slightest.

What did you think about the essay?

I liked it a lot, one of my favorites I've read in a while. The concluding paragraph really hit the nail on the head.

Isn't the obvious choice to finish the Samurai Trilogy?

After that, I'd go for Phantom Carriage, LYAM, and Army of Shadows

Barnes & Noble on their website is having a 40% off sale on Criterion Blu-rays. Should we expect a 50% off sale in July?

I hope Scanners comes out this Halloween as fans of both the horror and sci-fi genre including myself want it! i wanna see that exploding head look good in high def and the blood looking brighter than ever, LOL.

I mean Scream is releasing Scanners 2 & 3 as i can't for them but fans who liked those 2 sequels who want them also want the original.

Hope there's good extras like commentary, interviews, trailers, TV spots, radio spots, and still gallery with quality picture and sound.

Luckily, albeit 40% off, the sale isn't *that* good. Most of the Criterion single disc Blu's are running $23.99 - which is a price that can most of the time be had on Amazon.com.

How would one describe this movie? It was voted #1 on a list of Criterions to pick up at the B&N sale. Is it worth a blind buy?

It's OOP so you'd best grab it now if your still interested. I haven't watched it yet, but I here its more an experience than a film. (Is that about right, everyone?)

I've watched some trailers and read some information, but I still can't grasp what exactly it's all about without revealing spoilers. I just wonder what genre one might put this in. Seems like a love it or hate it movie based on reviews. Many people called this "pretentious."

Barnes & Noble 40% off sale, eh?

I'm liking the idea of taking a break from purchases to enjoy going through my set of The Twilight Zone, since that box set pretty much ate up my Blu-ray budget for the month. I might stop by a store soon, though.

Probably not in my budget right now, but I pulled the trigger on La Haine, Mystery Train, and Marienbad. Really hoping they can come through on the last one.
