Was going to go back and buy Island of Lost Souls, AntiChrist and some others that were non digipack sets.
Seven Samurai is in the digipack

Just so I understand...you won't buy a film (during a great sale) if you can't get the price sticker off? I guess I won't understand...

You misunderstood.

I won't buy it from B&N because their store sticker is impossible to take off. For those that are digipacks I just PM them and expresslane them at Best Buy (yeah I can't use the coupons but it's not the end of the world).

The ones I will buy from B&N will be just the normal casing.

I wish they would stop using the black digipacks (a la Seven Samurai) that shows the obvious damage when it's shipped. Guess I can expect the same from Night of the Hunter.

Went over to BB and Expresslane pricematched Seven Samurai, 120 Days of Sodom (my curiosity has peaked), and Sweet Smell of Success. Only reason I didn't get them from B&N, is because B&N has the crazy sticker on it, and for boxsets like Seven Samurai or Sweet Smell, I don't take off the shrink wrap, just knife around the opening where I can pull out the blu-ray case.

Will be back for more this weekend!
It's interesting that there have been some posts like this one, in the past couple of days on this forum, related to a blind buy of Salo. (At least I assume this post is talking about a blind buy.) And as other posters have noted in reply - this is a truly terrible blind buy purchase. I can't think of a movie that would be worse to blind buy. It's unpleasant and far from enjoyable on purpose, and is a movie without hope. I'm not saying it's a bad movie - I own it, and have watched it twice in the last year. There is much about it that I like a lot artistically, and then there is much about it that is simply too difficult, content-wise, thematically, and in terms of the portrayal of sadism and brutality, for me to enjoy.

But if you want to blind buy Salo - more power to you. Please let us know what you think if you get a chance. I'm always curious to know what people think of it.

Ahhh, gotcha.

Repo Man
Pierre Etaix
Night of the Hunter
Che has a slip box
Monterey Pop, unless purchased individually, has a slip box
Yojimbo/Sanjuro, unless purchased individually, has a slip box

I think these were left off the last list...

Apparently The Earrings of Madame de will still be in a digibox (like the DVD was) when it is released.

It's going to look beautiful in a digipack I love the artwork.

The plot summary alone is too much for me. It's one of those love it or absolutely hate it experiences from what I've read. I'm afraid I would fall in the latter. I just can't bring myself to watch this!

I can respect that. I would really like to see my copy, but can never bring myself to do so. Each image is already burned in my memory from seeing it on DVD

I haven't built up an appetite yet. I may watch 3:10 To Yuma (Criterion), Prometheus, and Upstream Color today, though, instead of my ABC order (which would be All The President's Men).

Good luck with Prometheus, which outside of some beautiful cinematography and a strong Fassbender role was by far the worst thing I saw last year. I really hated it.

Continue with the ABC system, All the Presidents Men is a fantastic film. I believe it is one of Fincher's favorite films too.

On the topic of Alan Pakula, Klute would make a great addition to the collection
