Wait, I'm confused. Are people arguing that it isn't IaMMMMW because there are four worlds pictured? If so, that makes no sense.

There is never an intended overlap. It's always just a flaw in the B&N system, where one sale isn't removed before the other begins, that people occasionally luck upon and exploit.

Are you region free? If so, the UK release would have sufficed.

It is all relative at this point. The question you should be asking is whether or not you are crazier than me. Let's just hope we both get our movie.

Watched Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank for the first time and really liked it. I was suprised by how much depth and complexity there was to it and how non-judgemental the approach was to these people and the world they live in. I watched both the interviews and her short film "Milk" afterwards and even from watching Milk, I can see she's someone who is fascinated by the darker side of humanity but very much stays in the grey area where things aren't left too ambiguous but there's room for interpretation. I really enjoyed that about Fish Tank.

The acadamy aspect ratio choice was simply perfect. The film wouldn't I been the same in widescreen. It's not just a stylistic choice, it felt so appropriate while experiencing the film. As appropriate as the excellent title itself. My girlfriend didn't even notice that it wa shot in that aspect ratio until I pointed it out and she agree'd with my feelings regarding it.

Fish Tank sat in my amazon wish list as "lowest priority" for over a year before out of the blue I decided to order it. I don't know what compelled me to do it but it arrived today along with some other Criterion's I ordered and it's the first of them I put in to watch. So glad I checked it out. It's definitely my type of contemporary cinema. The British do gritty, realistic drama's so well and this one doesn't disappoint.

If loving Le Cercle Rouge is crazy, then I don't want to be sane.

A great great great film.

I'd call it my third favorite Criterion behind Le Samouraï and Army of Shadows. I'm a Melville extremist, yessirree.

As far as how much I enjoyed it, I'd put it near Fanny and Alexander. It may only because Fanny and Alexander is so much easier to contemplate and understand on a first viewing. I also had this problem with the first time I watch Seventh Seal. I understand its significance and its genius, but perhaps I didn't get everything it was trying to tell me.

In short, I really did enjoy Wild Strawberries, but I believe it will require more viewings to really capture everything that is trying to be said.
I've seen Wild Strawberries a few times now, and I realize something new each time.

I need to see more Bergman films. At present, I've only seen Smiles of a Summer Night, The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, The Virgin Spring, and Fanny and Alexander.

What I like about the Bergman films I have seen is that they are engrossing upon the first viewing, and they never feel "homeworky", but subsequent viewings reveal so many new layers.

I've been clamoring for a Blu-ray release of Smiles of a Summer Night for some time now on this forum, so I was recently surprised to discover that the movie has, indeed, been available on Criterion Blu-ray for quite some time now. I'm not sure why this never registered on my radar. Probably because I have not stumbled across it in stores.

I'd rather see them drop Scanners and give us The Brood and (re-issue) Dead Ringers. Cronenberg's 2 best IMO along with Videodrome.

This Novemember marks the 50th anniversary of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World so I think it's very possible that Criterion could release it, especially with the 210 minute original cut. While not all the faces of the worlds look "mad", It's definitely the closest clue that makes any kind of sese.

Right, but all the previous sales ended 2:59am est/11:59pm pst which is what caused the overlap. They appear to have corrected it with this sales' ending time.

I didn't know it will be the 50th anniversary. You very well may be right.

I've been holding out on seeing this, because I want to revisit the first two movies first. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to do so with a box set.

i think it will look great in hd and hopefully would come along with some good extras. i'd like to see some stuff on the production and the amount of improv, on the spot writing/rewriting, etc. that went on, because although the movie feels really well made and put together, it also has a buoyant and fresh feel. the location shots were really nice, the acting and script are excellent, and the chemistry between the two leads is, as expected, terrific.

trailer for Frances Ha was shown - i also loved that film, perhaps more than Before Midnight . . . anyways, i'd love for both to be spined.

apart from those two, the other summer movie that I've got planned is Pacific Rim.

Ahhhh, so good. (and it wasn't a film I was dying to see either).

Is the Wim Wenders commentary track good?
The 2D trailer to PINA made it look intriguing, but seeing the whole movie in 3D is truly mesmerizing. After watching it, I immediately watched the bonus features (also in 3D) and the next night watched the movie again with the commentary track. I think now that I'm likely to rewatch it with the commentary track more often without it, as Wenders' comments are not only fascinating but make the film into more of a documentary. Without his commentary, the film is an aesthetically beautiful record of the dance company, but with it a lot of things make more sense and have greater depth of meaning. PINA was one of my best blind-buys, and is probably my favorite 3D Blu-ray.

And re: CRONOS, it's quite possibly my favorite Del Toro film (haven't yet seen DEVIL'S BACKBONE, however). It would make a great double-bill with LET THE RIGHT ONE IN.

Fellini's 8 1/2 never reminded me of David Lynch, mostly just of Fellini, and of course a lot like Woody Allen trying to imitate Fellini (we need a Blu-ray release of STARDUST MEMORIES desperately!), not to mention the moderately interesting musical remake, NINE.

Oh, and WILD STRAWBERRIES is an Ingmar Bergman film, not Ingrid!
But, yes, it's certainly in his top ten or even five films.

[Wow -- you get too tied up with other things to check Blu-ray.com's Criterion forum for a week and there are 40 pages to catch up on! Too much!!]

you know what i mean, to get spine numbers. who knows? - maybe "spined" will catch on as a new phrase. personally, i doubt it, and even hope not lol. anyways, . . . i've been reading my son a book about stegosauruses and there is much discussion of spines and other cool dino stuff.

my wife cried a lot during Before Midnight - for me, it wasn't that emotional, i mean it's definitely touching, but she was smitten and as the dramatic tension built was really sniffling away. a Before Midnight box would be kind of like Truffaut's Adventures box set . . . romance, comedy, drama in a cycle, and a set of coming of age films that are at once about laughs and tears, and life's realities.

seeing the movie (well both movies . . . Frances and Before) here in Paris was cool because of the many references to Paris and the French in both films. it's always interesting to see how they react, like
[Show spoiler]when Hawke tells Delpy that he knows how her "French ass" works, accusing her of an affair during the hotel scene . . . the mostly French audience gasped in horror
