Too bad it doesn't seem like every Artificial Eye title is included..I've been wanting to get La Ceremonie, but it's not part of it.

..and I wish you a happy one too

My blind-buy of Maurice just came today. Hope to watch soon.

I did see Tokyo Drifter for the first time today; I thought it was a lot of fun and loved the style, but it was hard for me to follow. Seems like it'd have good replay value though, I'll try to pick up the next 50% sale!

My fingers have been crossed so long for this that they've somehow melded together. Now my two crossed fingers have become one fat finger. Yikes.

Badlands
A Man Escaped
Monsieur Verdoux
Repo Man
Band of Outsiders
Wild Strawberries
Lord of the Flies
The Devil's Backbone

Probably can't resist
Naked Lunch

Ivan's Childhood
Medium Cool
Babette's Feast

I have a problem
The Tin Drum
Pina
Richard III
3:10 to Yuma
Things to Come
The Life of Oharu
Great list, I'm psyched for the sale to start . . . all of them are winners, though I haven't seen Pina or Monsieur . . . I've bolded my favorites from your list. Tin Drum is awesome . . . the opening sequence is one of my all-time favorites.

there are way to many classic movies i want

yesterday i watched hitchcocks psycho for the first time.

well made movie. good actors. only bad thing is i did already know what will happen.... ;( but for people in the 60s this must have been a hell of a brilliant movie. .. now over 50 years later story has been remade like 24734 times

Criterion has already many movies i would love to blind buy.. brazil, life of oharu ,lord of the flies, les elephants.. but the problem is the same thing does apply for MoC and Artificial Eye -.-

Thanks for the link Pro-B. I have most of the ones I want, but I will consider a few others, most notably:

•We are what we are
•Angels of evil
•Berlin
•Zatoichi

I hate to be a killjoy but I'm pretty sure they changed the sale times so that this will no longer occur.

That's what holds me back from watching more blurays (Criterion or not) at a faster rate ... especially watching the same film a 2nd (or 3rd) time with the various audio commentaries. I like to watch every supplement before going on to the next bluray and feel bad (like I'm not getting the entire experience) when I skip them. It can really take some time.

When did they do this? The 40% off sale and b2g1 free sale overlapped just last month

I guess great minds think alike. I feel I have to watch (or at least give a try to) the supplements before I can shelve the disc and move on to the next one. Even though the participants will never know, I still feel like I'm doing them a disservice since they did put in the time and effort to put them on the disc, and these supplements (along with the convenience and certainty of physical media) are what make the format superior to streaming video, etc. Sometimes i'm pleasantly surprised by some supplements, interviews with certain actors for example, that are far more interesting and informative than I would have guessed had I never clicked on that menu option. On occasions when I go nuts and buy 4 or 5 BDs/DVDs at a time, however, it can really create a backlog. And, I'm ashamed to admit, on select movies where I may be more interested in the commentary than the movie itself (certain "art" films, foreign films, and B-movies come to mind), I'll watch a movie I've never seen before for the first time with both commentary track and subtitles on, and try to follow both at the same time. There, I said it. There was a time in my life when I could set aside 2 or 3 hours a day to just watch movies, but that time is long gone.

I never got into commentaries. The only ones I remember ever listening to were for Return Of The Living Dead as it's a favorite of mine. I do watch video supplements though. My Panasonic player can fast forward 2X and you can still hear the audio. It's a nice way to save some time watching extras.

I bought this one back in January when there was a great sale. I cannot recommend this Blu-ray enough. It's a wonderfully insidious film, and my favorite Haneke work by a long mile.

I saw Cache (Hidden) at the theater upon its release several years ago, and a certain scene brought about the most shocked audience reaction that I've ever witnessed in a theater. People who have watched this movie know exactly which scene I am talking about.

In the past they ended the sales at 2:59 am est so they would end at 11:59 on the west coast. The overlap would occur since the new sale started at midnight est. If you look at the details of this current sale the end time is now 11:59 pm est, one minute before the Criterion sale begins.

I agree. To me, supplements are a huge perk to buying physical media.
