I quite like the Big Heat. Not my favorite but still a good watch. My personal favourite film Noirs are Gilda, Sweet Smell Of Success, In A Lonely Place and The Narrow Margin. Could watch all those a thousand times each.
Looking forward to next month cause our arthouse theater is doing their annual August Noir program and showing Sweet Smell Of Success! Going to be amazing

Made a second stop in to B&N before crossing the border back to Canada. Ended up grabbing Insignificance, Tiny Furniture, Summer Interlude, and 4 by Agnes Varda. Just when I thought I was finished with Criterions for the time being, I came home to find that a local shop is selling Kiss Me Deadly for $14.99 today only, and I just recently traded mine. I'm out now, until Lord of the Flies and Babette's Feast are released, but I'm holding off until the actually release date so I can apply the 5 off 50, as I'll get Night of the Hunter then as well.

Can't wait to break into a few of these discs now that I'm home.

I just got that huge Varda boxset from France. It's basically the same price as the Criterion set and HUGE.

I can't wait to get started on it.

Fat Girl

Hopefully I will acquire those plus the three upcoming July releases so I can say I own them all for once.
That would be a nice photograph
And thank you. Just trying to decide on one more to get for now (managing spending habits).
I did mention Vivre Sa Vie, Band of Outsiders, and 12 Angry Men. Well, it just hit me, so I might as well add "The Red Shoes" to this multiple choice decision, hahaha. Any suggestions based on the four?

12 Angry Men without a doubt is the best of the four.

I'll update the photograph of my CCs in my Collection one of these days.

Personally, I like The Red Shoes the most out of those. There's a fifteen minute stretch in the middle that will leave your mouth agape.

Thanks, y'all. Silly reason for being indecisive. At first, I was going for "Vivre Sa Vie" because it's Godard, but also because I think it's the oldest of the Blu-ray releases (released in June 2010, right) and...I don't buy movies because they are out of print, but I do try to get my favorite movies or movies I'm interested in before the price skyrockets. None of these are going OOP, so I don't have anything to worry about, right? (I'm not trying to be silly here, btw)

By the way, I love 12 Angry Men and I've heard tales of the dance sequence in "The Red Shoes", so I was very curious.

The Red Shoes is also my favourite of those listed, but 12 Angry Men is a close second.

I like to call it a "film" rather than a movie. Although a "documentary film" is far more fitting (how often do you hear "documentary movie"?). If I ever decide to become a film scholar/teacher, this will be a release I will demand my students watch as a final exam and essay.

Considering you get a 9 1/2 hour film with three additional films and supplements, it should be worth every penny of the $40 (after $8 coupon).
Yes, or worth every penny of the $36.99 (after $8 coupon + 10% discount).

I should have looked into that. I ended up only paying $37.79 after $8 off $40 and the 10% members discount.

I'm assuming every Blu-ray in the CC, not the entire Collection.

Definitely give it a watch sooner than later.

I've all but given up hope on completing the "collection" but I do have every Blu-ray, with the exception of the few that have just been released (which I'll get during this sale )

I was mixed on 'Fat Girl' upon initial viewing, but I have been desperately wanting to revisit it as of late. I was disappointed to see that my local B&N did not carry it today. May just have to order it online in the upcoming weeks, hopefully with some coupons.

Still need to check out other Breillat films, especially 'The Last Mistress' (which stars the incredible Asia Argento).
