Lots of great Criterion + non-Criterion double and triple features mentioned already (some of which I was going to include but got beaten to it). Here are some more, starting with the obvious group of remakes.

YOJIMBO / FISTFUL OF DOLLARS / LAST MAN STANDING
3:10 TO YUMA (1957) / 3:10 TO YUMA (2007)
THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1934) / THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (1956)
TITANIC (1953) / A NIGHT TO REMEMBER / TITANIC (1997)
SEVEN SAMURAI / MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

CRONOS / LET THE RIGHT ONE IN
HAROLD AND MAUDE / RESTLESS
Godard's WEEKEND / COSMOPOLIS
SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS / THE APARTMENT
METROPOLITAN / MANHATTAN / NEW YORK STORIES
DESIGN FOR LIVING / ON APPROVAL
LONESOME / CITY GIRL
SUNDAYS AND CYBELE / RAPTURE
IN WHICH WE SERVE / MRS. MINIVER
12 ANGRY MEN / TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
ON THE WATERFRONT / HIGH NOON
LORD OF THE FLIES / THE HUNGER GAMES
THIS HAPPY BREED / CAVALCADE
SHADOWS / TOO LATE BLUES
FACES / SUCH GOOD FRIENDS
KISS ME DEADLY / PULP FICTION
HEAD / HELP!
THE FOUR FEATHERS / FLAME OVER INDIA
THE LEOPARD / 1900

Other good mash ups:

-Badlands/Bonnie and Clyde? (honestly, I've never seen Bonnie and Clyde so I don't know how well this really works.)
Those are both pretty good. B movie double-features are hard to beat. In fact, if we get slammed with the predicted thunderstorms I might do something like that tonight.

Bonnie and Clyde is a pretty good match with Badlands. Gun Crazy wouldn't be bad either.

Charade's PD, so any studio can get their hands on it. (Although Universal still has their own print, as they used to distribute with the various updated remake films.)

But to have Criterion rescue the print is the best excuse to get their version of a PD title. Now, if we could only convince them to get Night of the Living Dead...

I think it's cool to get someone's perspective on movies that they enjoy. I don't find something like that awkward.

Ain't that the truth?

I gave Skyfall a pass for the CGI Komodo dragons, because real Komodo dragons actually do kinda sorta hunt people down and eat them. I also gave a pass to The Grey, because the wolves are simply a metaphor in that film. I also gave a pass to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, because the apes demonstrated human-like behavior.

Okay, I guess that I give a pass to a whole lot of movies, but I do miss the good old days with real animals in films. Val Lewton's The Cat People for the win.

Not necessarily.

The film was re-released directly by Universal as part of their line. People who don't want to break their price point can get it relatively cheap.

True, in fact they make a superb double-feature. However, I was sticking exclusively to movies currently on or announced for Blu-ray. I'd buy a Blu-ray of THE CROWD to replace my old laserdisc in an instant!

Gotcha. I may have to try out your double feature though. Sounds like a winner.

In theory, I agree with you. I love the "Top 10" lists Criterion releases and always find the perspectives pretty interesting. Something about the execution of these closet videos on the other hand just makes me uncomfortable.

Or his The Leopard Man. Underrated Lewton film, IMO, with a sequence-
[Show spoiler]the girl's trip to the store,
that's textbook terror.

Not choices I would've expected him to get, but I really enjoyed hearing his thoughts. Especially on Kazan.

Struggling to decide on a 3rd title I'd like to purchase (Ice Storm and Wild Strawberries are on my list so far).

Would I enjoy Shock Corridor and/or Naked Kiss if I'm a big noir fan? I've read that they're both really 'weird' but are they interesting stories with twists and reveals?

I'm leaning towards Shock Corridor as I love a good crime/murder mystery and psychological terror story.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Big noir fan?

•Night of the Hunter
•Sweet Smell of Success
•Kiss me Deadly

I think you may enjoy the Fullers, but note: they are more comic than noir.

Considering the two $30 November titles, it would be awesome if they would get similar releases. $30 B-movie releases every month

Of the two, Naked Kiss is more of a straight crime drama. It's probably my slight favorite between the two.

But if you want a great crime/murder/psychological tension drama check out Revanche.
