I think it'll be 2014. Don't see them releasing two Bergman's that close together in separate months.

Curious to see what else hits in Dec besides The Big Chill and Tootsie, though.

Charlie Chaplin could have totally played the lead role in Encino Man.

I'm getting excited about seeing City Lights.

Ha, I've shown this picture to two people familiar with Chaplin and they had no who it was.

I'm assuming they're teaching it for background on Melies, but hopefully an attentive student will learn something about 3D from it. Just make sure they screen the right version.

Not knowing the specifics of their licensing or contracts, I don't know what their options actually are at this point. I do know, however, that they still want to release it.
Makes sense, I figured the reason they have not released it yet is because of the elements available.

I don't have a 3D TV (But I do have the 2D Blu Ray), and I didn't see it in theaters. Hopefully I'll have enough money for a 3D TV soon. Until then, I'll just have to wait

How long does it take to get a response from mulvaney@ criterion, to get replacement discs?

I emailed about the Three Colors: White replacement disc on July 28, and received a reply from Jon on July 29. I received the $10 gift certificate email a week and half after shipping my disc, and then received the replacement disc three days after that.

Here was his email reply, so you could probably just send the replacement disc without a query, but I felt better emailing first.

We are exchanging the WHITE Blu-ray discs directly from our New
York office. Please send your WHITE disc, disc only please, to my
attention at the address below. With the disc, please include your
email address and postal address. Please do not include any
packaging with your disc. When we receive your disc, we will send you
the corrected copy and a $10 gift certificate to Criterion.com! Thank
you for your patience while we were sorting out this audio
issue! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and thank
you for supporting Criterion!

Best,

Jon

I agree. It's probably in my top 10 or 20 Criterion offerings.

Shocking art-house news of the day: 'Blue is the Warmest Color' gets an NC-17 rating.

Possible Criterion release. I can't wait to see it.

[Show spoiler]Oh hush.

That's on my list for the NY Film Festival. Buzz is really good so hopefully I can snag tickets!

Considering the topic, it's not that shocking. I mean, maybe an NC-17 rating IS a bit to high, but I can see why they would do it.

As long as it gets released here, I'll be happy. I mean, it's pretty damn hard to sell a three hour french flick that's centered on two women in love.

Glad I'm not the only one who dug Karen Sisco. I was so sad when they cancelled the show. And I loved Out of Sight. As for Justified, I've got to start watching that show!

So sad to know he won'e be giving us anymore great stories.

I'd definitely suggest watching the first just to make sure you like it, but I'm going to hold off on the rest and enjoy them fresh on Blu. Also want to avoid the absolutely ludicrous amount of commercials Hulu forces you to endure on the free watches.
Thanks for the advice, i'm going to try to sit down and watch the first one this week...

It's a really memorable film and works on most levels too. I don't regret blind-buying it.
