Which is funny because Godard was asked to direct the Warren Beatty film. But what you just said really doesn't mean anything due to Bonnie and Clyde was real people, so the "story" of them was out there, just not the movie. Now IMO is Pierrot le fou based off of them? Doesn't matter, because that isn't what Godard wants the movie to be about. Also the movie is based off of a novel called Obsession by Lionel White. But the film is mainly about Godard's use of postmodernism.

He was the most inventive director of the era, and I think it's his most daring film, all things considered. I also enjoy Bande a Part, which I think is his most playful film, and Alphaville. I'm really not too fond of Breathless or Contempt (gasp).

Godard is the inventive director still. Some could say his films 1969-on is what sets his name at the top. Criterion needs to get the ball rolling on Histoire(s) du cinéma. Last edited by SpiderBaby; 04-18-2010 at 05:42 AM. |

Not your fault. Heck I haven't seen enough of his later work. No way to. You can see some on Youtube, but thats it. Someone needs to grow a pair and release these films. I wonder why Criterion don't? Is it because they are shot on video? Come on Criterion.

I just completed Chungking Express.
I had never seen this movie before this even if I actualy some of the other movies made by Wong Kar-wai (specialy In The Mood For Love). Very good movie bur I was more interested in the second story then the first and I was also very happy it was a bit longer then the first part. I happen to be a big fan of Tony Leung and so that help's a lot. I felt the second story much more interesting then the first one. Like a lot of other movies by Wong Kar-wai I had a bit of a hard time figuring out what was happening in the now and what was flashbacks or memories ![]() It's funny I did not plan this but I saw two Wong Kar-wai movies this weekend since I also saw Ashes Of Time. |
