Anyway, definitely taking that with a grain of salt.

There aren't any spaghetti westerns in the Criterion Collection, are there? Ugh, imagine Great Silence on Criterion – that'd be amazing.
I'll go against the trend by saying that I prefer the Extended Cut of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. I like the way that the added scenes fill in the narrative gaps (where Tuco's henchmen came from, etc.), and the voice differences do not bother me.

A lot of this is admittedly due to the fact that I saw the Extended Cut at a theatrical showing a few years ago, but I love it.

Ideally, a remastered package will include both versions.

This is almost like christmas for a little kid: you're so excited you can't stop thinking about it, and now the boy is hyper, and he can't fall asleep, and at 2 a.m. he's still up, so he looks on his iPad at videos of the presents he thinks he'll get, and he get's even more excited, and then he opens those presents in the morning, and right after he does so he crashes in his bed because he's so tired, and he doesn't wake up until lunch, and afterwards he plays the hell out of those toys. I'm like that kid right now.

At the moment, I can't see spending more money for Hulu+ for access to even more movies I'll have difficulty finding the time to watch, Criterion or no.
I'm hoping it cuts down on my spending for a few months..

Lots of David Lynch talk, getting me excited about the annoucements. One that I would like to see, that I don't think I've seen mentioned is Wild at Heart. For me, that would be pretty frikkin' cool.

Some of us are waiting for a cheaper alternative. Disney/Buena Vista has to release it eventually, right?

Refreshed my avatar and signature in the hopes of an Antonioni related announcement. It's doubtful, but I'll keep my fingers crossed anyways.

Especially if they manage to get a hold of the deleted scenes from Lynch's Lime Green Set, I don't think any of the current Blu-ray releases have those.

Yes, but at the time, nobody knew what the heck the hippie movement was about (except for maybe Jack Webb on the old Dragnet series, and boy, was he the Cassandra of his day), and big establishment interests Ph3ared what might become of it.
Particularly studios, as the studio system was winding down, and here was this out of nowhere BBS Fonda/Raphaelson back-roads production suddenly rocketing ahead at the box office, striking a chord with the Young People Out There with its drugs and revolution and failed-Americana and stuff, and making bold 60's statements that ended up ushering in the cynical 70's Golden Age.

Although, by today's standards, the "trip" scene is incredibly silly, as studio execs found out when they let Dennis Hopper direct other films, but best viewed as a time capsule. Either "What happened to 1969?" or "What were we freakin' thinking?? ", it works either way.

Eraserhead was fair Criterion game since it was an independent art movie, and think Janus had the original 70's release. That one was already theirs.

As for everything else, it's scattered all over the map:
In order, you've got one from Paramount, one from Universal, one from Sam Goldwyn, one from New Line, one from Disney somewhere in there, and....aw, heck I stopped paying attention halfway through the second season of Twin Peaks.

I take it David Lynch is now the official new Badlands/The Game of Criterion guessing day?

I have a feeling these December announcements are going to be insanely awesome. CC is going to send 2013 out with a bang.

Right now I'm keeping low expectations so I don't get utterly crushed.

Best use of tennis in a film too (Sorry Strangers on a Train)

A film as visually spectacular as Blow up deserves to be on BluRay immediately. It blew my mind as a budding cinephile all those years ago:

David Ehrlich, who usually knows what he is talking about, and was able to visit Criterion earlier this year and learn about some of their plans, posted this to his Criterion Corner twitter just now:

"look for Criterion to announce a slightly more robust December lineup than usual..."

Are Criterion announcing their december line up at a specific time? If so, what is it?
