That's really disappointing. Everyone always hypes these things up with major potential titles and those predictions never come to fruition. Nothing really interesting to me here. I'll look into Investigation, though.

It's okay.

Here's Criterion's statement from last month.

Yes. http://www.criterion.com/current/pos...hy-dual-format

Although it's interesting that December's Grey Gardens release will be Blu-ray only. I guess they have a large stock of the DVDs.

hooray for Nashville!, hopefully will release Altman's Popeye as well (in both theatrical and often rumored about 3 hr directors cut that was actually Altmans true vision of the film)

I have the original soundtrack album on vinyl.

Talk about a case of blue balls.

I'd say I'm very disappointed but then again I've been let down so many times that at this point I will come to expect absolutely nothing I'll be interested in during every future Criterion monthly announcement.

Nashville is the one I'm interested in, first and foremost. Never seen Grey Gardens. Is it any good?
Anyway, hoping the next year will start with a bang.

They really need to get some more popular titles in there early next year. I haven't had a title jump out at me since Lord of the Flies.

I'm absolutely giddy about Nashville! The teaser cartoon came out fairly recently so I gave up hope it would be coming out soon, especially with Eraserhead seemingly being overdue.

Nashville is a brilliant movie if you get into the satirical groove of the thing. The first time I saw it, it seemed all over the place and I couldn't make head or tails of it, but each subsequent viewing is better than the last. Henry Gibson is just brilliant, and as a Goldblum fan I love his weird magician, biker guy.

Keep a goin!

+1 for Popeye as well. Paramount released it on DVD and seeing as they've licensed titles to Criterion in the past, I wouldn't rule it out. It was panned at the time of its release but I think its cult reputation has grown, likely from us 30-40 somethings who saw it as kids and just loved it!

Wonderful to get confirmation on Nashville, on the short list of greatest American films of the post-classical era. I'll pick up the World Cinema box, but am set with my DVD of Grey Gardens.

I'm really confused. I thought that drawing from January was supposed to show titles they would release this year??!?!

Weren't Scanners and Eraserhead for sure the two hinted at??? Am I missing something?

I haven't been keeping up with the hints, so I feel completely blindsided by Nashville. Simply awesome.

Grey Gardens too!

They don't always stick to the schedule. Y Tu Mama Tambien was first hinted at years ago.

So what's the list of rumored/suspected Criterion blu titles that haven't yet been announced? I know over the last couple of years it's been The Long Goodbye, Thief, It's a Mad Mad Mad World, Y Tu Mamma, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, Scanners, The Brood, and Spartacus and Life Aquatic upgrades.

No day one purchases for me. I may get Nashville down the line. I'll give the WCF a miss as well since I'll probably pick up the MoC version. Curious to see if MoC will match Criterion on the extras though.

Disappointed that Eraserhead was not released since it's been hinted at since that cartoon pic, but I thoroughly enjoyed Grey Gardens when I saw it awhile back. I saw The Housemaid on Hulu and that's one crazy Korean film and I need to add at least one Robert Altman film to my collection. Overall, I'm not totally disappointed.
