Although it's interesting that December's Grey Gardens release will be Blu-ray only. I guess they have a large stock of the DVDs. ![]() |

Talk about a case of blue balls.
I'd say I'm very disappointed but then again I've been let down so many times that at this point I will come to expect absolutely nothing I'll be interested in during every future Criterion monthly announcement. |

Nashville is the one I'm interested in, first and foremost. Never seen Grey Gardens. Is it any good?
Anyway, hoping the next year will start with a bang. |

They really need to get some more popular titles in there early next year. I haven't had a title jump out at me since Lord of the Flies.

Nashville is a brilliant movie if you get into the satirical groove of the thing. The first time I saw it, it seemed all over the place and I couldn't make head or tails of it, but each subsequent viewing is better than the last. Henry Gibson is just brilliant, and as a Goldblum fan I love his weird magician, biker guy. Keep a goin! +1 for Popeye as well. Paramount released it on DVD and seeing as they've licensed titles to Criterion in the past, I wouldn't rule it out. It was panned at the time of its release but I think its cult reputation has grown, likely from us 30-40 somethings who saw it as kids and just loved it! They don't always stick to the schedule. Y Tu Mama Tambien was first hinted at years ago.

So what's the list of rumored/suspected Criterion blu titles that haven't yet been announced? I know over the last couple of years it's been The Long Goodbye, Thief, It's a Mad Mad Mad World, Y Tu Mamma, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, Scanners, The Brood, and Spartacus and Life Aquatic upgrades.

Disappointed that Eraserhead was not released since it's been hinted at since that cartoon pic, but I thoroughly enjoyed Grey Gardens when I saw it awhile back. I saw The Housemaid on Hulu and that's one crazy Korean film and I need to add at least one Robert Altman film to my collection. Overall, I'm not totally disappointed.
