Think I'll wait for the B&N sale.

Any are fine but two of the first three are best options. Definitely Night of the Hunter.

I'm thinking of ordering:
Eclipse #8: Lubitsch Musicals
Eclipse #14: Rossellini's History Films
Eclipse #17: Nikkatsu Noir
Eclipse #18: Dusan Makavejev
Eclipse #27: Runaway Dramas
Eclipse #31: Jean-Pierre Gorin
Eclipse #32: Pearls Of The Czech New Wave (the one I want the most)
Eclipse #39: Early Fassbinder (other one I really want)

I would probably order some DVD Criterions, but I think it's pointless because there's always a chance of an upgrade.

Honestly, Down by Law and Fish Tank (for me). Two of the most overlooked gems in the entire catalogue.

Down By Law would be my 3rd pick.

The highlighted are definites, IMO!

Yes, I don't think I'd buy new criterion dvds again (non sets obv). Used only at a good price just in case a blu comes out.

I love my Nikkatsu Noir Eclipse set. Even the color scheme of the box is my favorite of the series . I haven't seen all the films included yet, but the ones I have are solid noir titles.

I found the Gorin set really interesting. I particularly liked Poto and Cabengo.

Pardon a DVD question, but the Eclipse thread in the DVD forum seems fairly dead in the water:

how do the transfers of the Early Fassbinder titles compare to those of their prior DVD releases? Fassbinder's my very favorite director, and the original transfers were poor for the most part--but I still have some resistance to re-buying a set of titles I already purchased on this same (now-inferior) format, not to mention in barebones editions.

I just made a huge order on Amazon UK, so I'll wait for BN50.

Calling all Owls, I just bought James Dickey's Deliverance. Looking forward to reading it after the semester ends, probably on the same day I revisit the Boorman film.

Anyone care to recommend if it's still worth buying for $41, since I'd just be buying it by itself?

Just picked up a few new releases:

Autumn Sonata
3 Films Ingrid Bergman
To Be or Not To Be
Spy Who Came In From The Cold

There's some catalog releases I want, but I'll wait till the next sale.

At least you can order posters and cases if you send them an email.

I don't have the set yet but here are a couple of reviews. The first says they are great the second says they are decent but not without faults...a 'you be the judge' type of deal I guess.
