$8...

Picked up a DVD version of the Royal Tenenbaums for $2. Not Blu-Ray.. but the price was right. It should be here by Friday.

It's the opposite for me. I tend not to like his films and can't pick many to recommend, but I do love the above two so it's easy for me to include them

I have 16 Hitchcock films, and I've only seen 3. Since it's Halloween, I might get around to watching them. Anyways, here are the 3 I watched (I like them all!)
(1.)Vertigo,(2.)Rear Window,(3.)North By Northwest

Rive Gauche > Nouvelle Vague

I must admit that Jean-Luc Godard is a filmmaker that I've just not been able to appreciate his work the way many others do. I wish I could. I've tried, and tried, and tried. But I just can't get into many of his films.

I doubt it's true. The current releases of IAMMMMW are fine.

I saw this film in (single projector) Cinerama in its original release when I was in junior high school. There was much about it that I loved, but in the end I simply didn't find it all that funny. And I find it far less funny today - far less funny than the average bad sitcom. When it's been on TV, I find that it doesn't keep my attention.

It's great because of who is in it and because some of the cameos were by stars who were already at the very end of their careers and we were unlikely to see them again.

I also think it's absurd to pretend that one can replicate the feeling of Cinerama, even single projector Cinerama (Ultra Panavision), at home.

Is also difficult for me to choose 3, but If i was I will pick North by Nortwest, Rear Window and To catch a Thief ( one of the best transfer from a movie that age I've seen )

very close tight are Lady Vanishes and Rebecca

I think Mauvais Sang is awesome - I haven't seen Boy Meets Girl, but I'll happily blind buy it if they release it on BD.
Mauvais Sang is the one I am more excited about. I've had my eye on the film for some time. Les Amants du Pont Neuf is my favorite Carax film. Hopefully that's somewhere on the horizon.

1. North by Northwest
2. Foreign Correspondent
3. The 39 Steps

Shadow of a Doubt may creep in my top 3 from time to time. Don't care much for the Universals.

Be that as it may, CC had a newsletter clue that definitely points to IAMMMMW as a future release.

Like the Flicker Alley release that some call This is not Cinerama.

I believe there was a post MANY MANY MANY MANY (Ha!) pages ago where they had a link to a story about someone (vague, I know) making a map for a Criterion release.

Not only was it confirmed on that site but I believe it was also confirmed by Robert A. Harris on home theater forum as well.
Its no rumour, it is indeed coming.
Supposedly going to have the roadshow version and I'm going to assume a plethora of extras as its supposed to be a box set.

I have a feeling you will like DePalma more than Hitchcock once you venture through his works

Looks like I am going to try my darndest to take my yearly NYC trip around the 29th of November so that I can see one of my ten favorite movies of all time on the big screen: Mauvais Sang.

Brian De Palma does have a Hitchcock-esque aesthetic in many of his films that I've seen. My favorite De Palma film, Blow Out, is like a slightly more nihilistic version of a Hitchcock tale.
