As this is the first time I've pre-ordered any Criterion releases from them can anybody tell me when they usually ship?

Day of release?

Or is stock sometimes late arriving with them?
You'd be best off ordering it from Barnes & Noble next month when it'll be $19.99 so you won't have to pay any extra customs fees.

Watched Letter Never Sent again tonight. Never ceases to amaze me how someone wasn't freakin' killed making that movie. The fire is absolutely harrowing. Sergei's mad dash for the boat..wow. Then the insane cold at the end. I never noticed immediately before
[Show spoiler]the helicopter rescue arrives
you can actually see the ice reform when Sabinine disturbs the water by his raft.

Any actor who has complained about bad catering or something else trivial should be forced to watch this Alex/Clockwork Orange style. Incredible movie by any measure, I just wish some supplements had been included.
Not sure if this video has been posted before. At 14.25 it includes some colour on set footage from Letter Never Sent.

Anything I've ever pre-ordered from Amazon has arrived the day it hits the streets. I have Amazon Prime though, so not sure that makes a difference.

Are Barnes & Noble customs friendly then?

Have ordered the City Lights disc along with a few other non Criterion releases that are out on the same day.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, however, specific enough to where you are expecting your order to ship based on the answer to your question is to what I was referring.

ship, one

is:

generally.'

They used to be. They used to mark them as "books" but they don't now. So customs is a bit hit or miss.

Even if you put separate orders in it'll probably be cheaper.

You need to get after those using "whom" incorrectly.

to whom, by whom, with whom, from whom, of whom -- those aren't too hard, and don't forget "in whom" and "for whom." The use of who/whom in subordinate clauses can be tricky, however.

Is this supposed to be an english language class then?

I asked a reasonable question in a polite and proper manner the best thing to do is to ignore you.

I agree. While I think In the Mood for Love is sort of a retread of Happy Together (by far, my favorite WKW), it's an impeccably crafted film.

so anyway, just won $200 in our 33 Club (Broncos scored 33 points). Debating not telling my wife and loading up on Criterion's. Would be fine until she checks the mail! Anyway, my wishlist is below. Any suggestions or additions based on what I currently own?

Just watched Bigger Than Life again for the first time in ages. What a disturbing and well made movie. Beautiful presentation.

I'm guessing you didn't notice that The Third Man is OOP. Of the other five on your wish list, I'd rank them in the following, descending order:

(1) The Battle of Algiers
(2) Badlands
(3) Down by Law
(4) Gomorrah
(5) Fish Tank
