I guess the link posted since early this morning was supposed to confirm the amazon pre-order titles as real but I'm not going to get excited until I see criterion announce a release date. As we all know Cronos was hinted at over a year ago and yet no release...
Same here. No enemy posters on here.

But isn't it the truth? It blows my mind. How am I "cynical" when I fight cynical posts like the ones saying Seven Samurai is the best movie ever when I know that person prob hasn't watched every single movie ever. I don't see why people hate on me and my opinions. I'm not the one saying silly stuff like "Movie A" is the best ever and nothing can top it. It's crazy.

CC, I like that you see no harm in this. You, kndy and some others are really nice and can take all opinions.

The wrath of CG can take over at anytime.

I keep saying 2001: A Space Odyssey is the best movie ever.

No I haven't seen every movie ever and that wouldn't be possible anyways.
But opinions do change over time, as you get more experienced your opinions will naturally be more nuanced, so what's wrong with saying a certain movie is the best movie ever made?
IMO it's like saying "as it stands now, this is the best movie ever made, but who knows what I'll think in the future?".
Well that's my input.

CG, isn't it better to get Seven Samurai out, and out of the way so to speak, so you won't have to listen to people pine for it all of the time?

It's just one release out of many, after all. I could see merit in a gripe if Criterion were to make some kind of ridiculous announcement that they were going to spend the next year working only on Kurosawa and Wes Anderson blu-ray transfers. But that's clearly never going to happen.

You could say "it's the best movie ever made, that I have seen." Don't be against the movies you haven't seen by saying something cynical like that.

I wish all the bickering could go to another thread, I think we now have about 3 pages of non-crucial Criterion information.

The wrath of CG is a force to be reckoned with, for sure... but, even more-so is "The Wraith" with Charlie Sheen. I don't know how that recently got re-released on DVD without a blu-ray alongside it.

Like I have said before, this isn't about Seven Samurai's blu-ray. It's coming anyways. The first thing was about Amazon listings, then it got to CG bashing hour, then someone saying a movie (Seven Samurai is this case) is the best ever made.

I own Seven Samurai. Yes, this punk owns the movie. Run for the hills. The world is ending.

I'm guessing that Conky 2000's word-of-the-day was "cynical." Commence screaming & yelling!!!

Hey, I'm a "punk" at heart, too... whatever that means. In 4th grade, I was wearing my suede green Vision Street Wear shoes and listening to The Exploited, Dead Kennedys, Agent Orange, Ramones, and The Dead Milkmen... and that's when the majority of those bands were still around. How cool was I?

cooler than I was. In 4th grade I was listening to silly Led Zeppelin and thought Seven Samurai is the greatest movie ever.

You're hopeless.

I'm gonna leave work now and go celebrate Cinco de Mayo-nnaise by eating some Mexican food.
