Salò is one they lost the rights to, but eventually got them back.

There are rumors about them re-acquiring the rights of the Tati films, and Robocop.

The only difference between Frances Ha and Lola Versus is that one is in color and the other in black and white but both similarly awful films.
Nice to see people have titles they absolutely loathe. While CC puts out great stuff, not every hit is a home run. I think a few of the films get praised simply because of the versions released, not on the merits of the films themselves.

I rented it. That is funny if there are people that own movies they hate.

Hope that is true and maybe they might get the rights to A Clockwork Orange because the current blu-ray PQ sucks and that's shameful considering WB had the 4k source and didn't release it on the digibook release.

Well I have a few that were blind buys for me that I really didn't care for. I need to rewatch them once I put a dent in my "to be watched" pile. Although that's going to be hard since I have about 10 movies headed my way right now. Really looking forward to the "Controversial Classics Collection" set.

Back to the topic at hand though; I really only have 2 that I really did not enjoy; maybe it's me since they're both highly regarded, highly praised films.

Old habits, you know. The Devils was brought up and Becker talked about it as though it was something that's been discussed and will be discussed, etc. From the BFI experience, I'd guess that the real answer is CC has talked to WB's hand, but who knows?

I actually watched it online some months back. There is a UK Blu-Ray now though.

You'll love it. It deserves every bit of its consideration as one of the top ten best films of all time. It just has that authenticity that makes it so easy to become invested in.

On a side note, Judgment at Nuremberg is on TCM tomorrow night, one of my top wish list films. I personally consider it to have the best written script of all-time. Of course, part of that is due to me being a former prosecutor, but the eloquence of the words and conveyance of them in the film is just very powerful and moving.

Call me cynical but I think I'm going to wait until that partnership produces a second title before I take Warner out of the 'doesn't license' category.

Yes, yes, and YES. I was furious when WB repackaged the same old transfer, despite having access to the 4K master. A film like ACO deserves better. And I can only imagine what kind of cover art the folks at Criterion would dream up for it.
