I have. Why do you ask? Because it's not one of my 10 favorite Bogie films?

Blue Is the Warmest Color is #695.

The most reasonable theory offered so far is that since Soderbergh's King of the Hill is #698, and it includes a second full-length feature film, The Underneath, that #699 is "reserved" for The Underneath. None of us know for sure, though.

I wish they'd offered a Blu-upgrade of their Bogie & Bacall: The Signature Collection DVD set, which included the four movies they did together, and offered the Best of Bogie set at the same time as just a tie-in. It does seem a bit pointless to release just a collection of the films already out, though for someone who doesn't already have the individual releases it's a great buy.

for those of you who have already picked up your set, what did you end up doing with the big sticker on the front? i was thinking about putting it on my fridge or maybe the side of my blu-ray shelf..?
I put it on the first (blank) page of the book. I didn't want to put it on the box and obscure the beautiful artwork.

I'm probably going to pick up the massive Bogart set after Christmas, it'll dupe up on some movies but even taking out the dupes it's still a great buy; about $3.50 per movie. DVD yeah, but almost all of the movies in the set are DVD only right now.

Just finished watching Three Colors: Blue. Very interesting film with some fantastic shots. Nice extras on this one as well.

Another B&N sale? Do we know the dates? Will this be store wide or like the Criterion / Art House sale and only cover certain sections?

Thanks

I think it is also likely that they planned on announcing a different title this month but for some reason it wasn't ready. This has happened in the past. If The Underneath had a spine number they would indicate it on the website.

I'm really hoping it's another Soderbergh movie to go with King of the Hill, Kafka.

I don't see those on the upcoming Amazon listings, are those on Amazon? If so, when is Fanny and Alexander going up?

Watched The Killing tonight and it impressed me far more than I expected. I could really see how big of an influence the film had on Reservoir Dogs. It's insane how great Kubrick's 50s output is. With the exception of Barry Lyndon and 2001, I think Paths of Glory and The Killing are Kubrick's brightest hours. Is Fear and Desire really as poor as it's made out to be?

Barnes & Noble My B&N haul for Saturday, November 30, 2013

Well, here was my last haul for the sale most likely!

I was able to use my old 20% mail-in coupon plus the 30% black friday coupon on 2 items!

I got The Documentaries of Louis Malle (Eclipse Series 2) for $25.19 + tax (that is normally $79.99!) and also To Be or Not To Be for $14.40 + tax.

No 40% coupon for me but that's okay!

I don't know what I just did...

Weekend (Godard)

Pale Flower
Diabolique
Ran

The only ones I really wanted at this time:
City Lights
Nosferatu

Every time I do this I think it is time to sell some blu-rays. Maybe this is that time...Haha! Or maybe tomorrow I buy the 12 Angry Men lightning deal.

The cashier who refused the 40% and 30% coupons on Zatoichi tonight told me a Criterion BOGO sale starts December 10th at Barnes and Noble! I forgot to ask how long it will last, but there will be 4 new titles available by then.
