A fully restored print of Shampoo has been recently shown at the some festival in France. It's certainly a possibility.

Man, The Piano Teacher just jumped to the very, very top of my Criterion Wishlist. It may sound hyperbolic, but watching it was one of the most powerful movie experiences I have had in years.

Just watched Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion and it is a brilliant movie. Well edited, paced and a story told always leaving you intrigued about the characters and world they live in. Really recommend this one if you're on the fence about it. BTW, the extras are well worth it. A ton of information about the movie.

Agreed. Haneke is really underrepresented on blu. Like Lars von Trier. Both these guys can make some duds, but some of their films hit me powerfully. Criterion would be natural place for them, tho I a lot of Haneke is on Kino.

I would move Heaven and Earth to have a Criterion Blu-ray release of Jacques Tourneur's Night of the Demon. It's one of the truly magnificent horror films.

There's an ongoing thread in the main forum about Night of the Demons (1988), and it chaps my tail every time I see it, because I want it to be a new announcement for the Tourneur film.

It goes without saying that I really want to see the above film noir titles on Blu-ray as well.

I was very glad when Criterion announced this because this is one of those I was a fan of before the Criterion edition and I know many more will be fans now too!

Spot on! When Haneke fails (Funny Games), I kind of loathe his sensibilities, but when it works, the effect can be utterly transporting. The Piano Teacher captured every corner of my attention!

Well, I grabbed myself a copy of Orpheus from the lightning deal. Not an amazing deal when you factor in shipping to Australia, but good enough. And I just kind of wanted to get something from one of the deals! :P

Orpheus can be a pretty polarizing film, but I love it. Great purchase!

Just saw 12 years a Slave. I think every person has a duty to see this movie. Steve McQueen is a genius. I liked Shame, but this is at another level. Such an emotional piece.

Now I must buy Hunger because McQueen is a new favorite Director of mine. Probably will buy the DVD version just for the director sticker lol.

Catching Dallas Buyers Club tomorrow. Oscars time movies is the best time of the year.

I agree! Such an amazing film that everyone should experience. I hope it wins best picture. I cannot wait until it releases on Blu and I can revisit it.

You will not be disappointed with your purchase of Hunger. I just watched it a few days ago and loved it. Steve McQueen is a brilliant director.
