I have $21.86 in AMZ credit. I'd prefer using that up for it.

Has anyone noticed that parts of Nashville are out of sync? The scene where Ronee Blakely is performing "the Cowboy song" and the song afterwards, Carradine's "I'm Easy" are really bad. I put on the DVD and it is fine on that disc but the Blu ray is a mess...at least my copy is.

B&N's B1G1 sale is up.

EDIT: Is it only for 5 titles?

I don't think it will last, because it's most likely more expensive than 3-discs Scanavo. It might be just to advertise more the collection / new titles overall.

How is this different from the just completed $19.99 sale except that it forces people to buy in even numbers? Repulsion for example, was $19.99 in the old sale but has nw returned to $39.99. Now, if you want only 3 titles, you have to find a fourth one to make it worthwhile.

Incidentally, Amazon prices for many Criterion blu-rays are dropping. Investigation of a..... is now only $22.99 and this may drop further soon. Some trusted E-bay sellers are not far behind.

It works on a variety of titles. They've only uploaded those five or six titles to the landing page.

Excluded are January and February releases, but if they've raised the price to full SRP ($39.99, etc.) it should be eligible and working in the cart.

Headed to a BN b&m store later today and will post what I find... but the girl I talked to on Sunday made it out to include all CC dvds and blu-rays. I'm sure online will continue to update... seems like this happened last time there was a big sale.

They've adjusted the price on quite a few more titles.

Anything at $39.99 is going to work.

Sets listed at msrp are working, too.

I wonder when B&N added this note?

I decided to get two titles: Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion & Late Spring.

I'm glad this sale came up so I could get the first for a good price before the next 1/2 price sale in July... And after watching Tokyo Story last night, I decided I need to see more Ozu. Tokyo Story was so moving and every frame was so beautifully composed that I can't believe I've never sought out his films before now.

Investigation will not go below 22.99 as they are matching the Best Buy price. It won't go below 22.99 until Amazon has their own Criterion sale or a comparable store goes below that price. And that won't be in the next few days or anything...

I was tempted to include the David Lean Directs Noël Coward set in my list of recommendations, but was trying to avoid recommending the more pricey stuff while he tries to work out what he likes and what he doesn't.

I was thinking about picking up the WCF box during this sale, but there isn't much of a point since I've got no interest in any similarly priced set that I don't have. I guess I'll just wait for it to go down to around $70 somewhere that ships to Canada.
