I don't care what you say, Persona makes this month a total success!

I had a feeling The Hidden Fortress was on its way. George Washington is a nice surprise. Persona, The Great Beauty and The Freshman were pretty much expected. Overall, a nice assortment of titles. Criterion has really been delivering the goods.

Maybe interested in The Freshman but that's it. I have The Hidden Fortress on DVD, while it was an OK film, I didn't like it enough to upgrade it.

Criterion has waited to get their hands on Persona for a long, long time. Scratch one more off my most wanted list!

Sounds good. The Hidden Fortress upgrade, Persona, and The Freshman are the only titles that jump out at me, but that ratio means a solid month.

Tad gutted that there is still no Lynch, but Persona makes up for it!

If I didn't particularly enjoy Safety Last!, will I enjoy The Freshman?

A Brief History Of Time - No interest
The Freshman - Haven't seen Safety Last yet. Might order it today in fact... Interest TBD
George Washington - Never seen it, but I'm interested.
The Great Beauty - Interested
The Hidden Fortress - VERY interested!
Persona - VERY interested!

Two exciting announcements, three I'm at least curious about - I'm happy with this list!

Here comes the influx of self entitled whinging!

I might be the only one extremely ecstatic about George Washington. I love David Gordon Greens 'arty' period and another Lloyd (or any silent comedy) is great news.

Persona is also one of those i've very much been looking forward to.

Great month Criterion... as always.

surprised that George Washington is getting an upgrade. I didn't have many Criterion DVDs back in the day when I wasn't seeing much outside of what was screening at the multiplex, but I have that one. I thought, at the time, that David Gordon Green really had a chance to be something special. Surprised that the blu-ray is happening as I kind of feel that that ship has set sail (Green being something special, that is)

I have my DVD of it and it will never be upgraded. no reason at all is that a title that I would ever considering upgrading.
If you dont have it on DVD I guess it is worth it to get it but it isnt anything I could ever do

George Washington is like Pather Panchali meets Days of Heaven. don't know how it'd hold up for me as I saw it years ago.

Overall I think this is a great month. I was not a huge fan of George Washington when I first saw it...I liked it a good bit, but didn't feel the need to own it...but the rest are great.
