The titles that have two DVD discs will be digipaks, in all likelihood. I'm not wild about the large digipak cases for Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion and Nashville, simply because they take up so much space, but the artwork looks great on both. I'm sure that the same will be true for the Persona and The Freshman.

I just noticed this is a supplement to Persona instead of a separate release. Very nice! I really wanted to see it.
It's excellent, I saw months ago and really enjoyed it. Great use of film clips also.
The perfect supplement for Persona.

My heart just sank a little I may have to look at buying this via a personal seller on Amazon / eBay and ask them to pack it with lots of padding so it does not get bashed to death on the journey. Failing that, wait for a good sale and order multiple titles and hope it is shipped in a box along with other titles

Yep. Are there any 3-disc Criterion-style cases out there? I like the Digipaks, but I can see why some people don't. They bruise easily, take up more room, and it just kills the nice alignment of standard cases someone might have on their shelf, especially with more recent releases which are more of a toss-up between regular cases, or digipaks.

Wow, I totally scored today on the last day of the B1G1 sale!

I was able to use the $8 off $40 or more coupon!!!

This is like the 2nd time I've ever been able to use this coupon on Criterion films in store.

I bought Grey Gardens and The Spy Who Came in from the Cold for a grand total of $27.99 + tax. (about $14 a movie!)

I really wanted to buy Nashville but this film was sold out in every store in my city.

It was a great score though for me.

Ill say my monthly generic response, "No scanners or Eraserhead still lol?!?"

But I'm hyped for:

The Great Beauty
The Hidden Fortress (was waiting for a new copy to finally watch)
Persona

Three buys for me!

Same three titles for me. More Bergman and Kurosawa on Blu-ray from Criterion is always a very good thing!

Okay, finally just discovered the March releases!

I am psyched for:

A Brief History of Time from Errol Morris
George Washington (upgrade) from David Gordon Green

I am also interested in:

The Hidden Fortress (upgrade) from Akira Kurosawa
The Freshman from Harold Lloyd
Persona from Ingmar Bergman

Might be interested in:

The Great Beauty from Paolo Sorrentino

Overall a pretty good month but just a couple of titles (including the BD upgrade) really stick out for me.

I'll upgrade The Freshman, will stick with my Persona DVD, and will rent/download the others. I'm not particularly interested in Kurosawa's samurai films (or the genre in general), so will pass on Hidden Fortress. Months like this are good for my wallet.

Agree, they usually have more artwork than regular releases, and overall it looks like a more premium product in my opinion, i also don't mind the difference in size, after all even the Criterions in standard case take more space than regular US blu ray cases.

Seems there is always some of the new year newsletter titles that take much more time than expected. I Think Wild Strawberries took a lot longer too.

Mulholland Drive was never hinted at as far as I know.
