Well I suppose it's possible, but the only thing Criterion would bring to the table is new special features because unlike a title like Brazil, I don't think there are alternate versions of the film. Or are there? In that case, it would be disappointing because I hate when Criterion extends their energy in releasing something that's already out there when there are so many other titles that haven't been given the blu treatment yet.

I get what you're saying, but the lack of just about any other film that could be a hint for tells me that it's happening. And Frank Capra has a filmmaker's page on Criterion's website.

Yes! How is La Dolce Vita not available on blu-ray yet? It's getting ridiculous.

I'm still waiting for Raise the Red Lantern (early Zhang Yimou) and Farewell, My Concubine (Palme d'Or winner), Chinese cinema classics that are very difficult to view.

The Deer Hunter has a blu-ray release, so when I saw that mentioned I was a little doubtful.

So many angels...I had hoped they could also serve as a clue for Howard Hawks' Only Angels Have Wings.

Are we definitely certain that The Beatles clue is for "A Hard Day's Night"?

Also, I'm very skeptical in believing that the deer clue will end up being "The Deer Hunter", although I can't think of anything else that it relates to. Criterion does have a good relationship with Universal, so maybe...I wouldn't mind a better version of one of the greatest war movies ever made.

I'm still hung up on what the people dancing and the band could be. I believe somebody said the people dancing could reference "The Big Chill".

Okay, on second thought, the angel with the bell could very well be Lars von Trier's Breaking the Waves.

Could it be Altman's "Kansas City"?

Damnet! Guess I'll have to wait for Fox to release a BD edition where the only new features are a documentary on how great the film is, and a digibook as thin as paper.

Somebody on Criterion.com said that the "Ringu" looking clue could in fact be for "Sada" (1998).

I'd love for one of those to be Angels with Dirty Faces, but I do not see an overt connection aside from the angels. Sigh...

Cornel Wilde's Beach Red would be pretty cool.

I do not see It's a Wonderful Life being released by Criterion. I bought and watched the existing Blu-ray edition of this movie last month, and there is no way that anyone will be able to improve on it. The existing Blu-ray is a beautiful presentation of a great black-and-white movie.
