I wear my Criterion shirt with pride.

It's an awfully comfy shirt.

You and me both. I just can't stomach the $20 shipping to Canada.

I think I'm going to wait for the next Criterion sale. I'll just add it with a couple of films so I can get the free shipping.

EDIT: Nice top 10, save for your top choice. Gonna watch Museum Hours today.

Do they ship the poster in a thick cardboard roll?

I'd really like to order a few but I somehow doubt they would survive the journey to Europe.

Just make sure you wash it by hand. I forgot once and put it in the dishwasher, and now one of the wacky c's is faded.

Mine came in a box, if I recall correctly.

Today the library closest to my house re-opened. I was browsing through the movies, and I saw Harold and Maude. I think a rental is gonna come up.

Like any company, Criterion needs some marketing. Using their fans/customers by selling them shirts and mugs with their logo is a "way" to approach this problem of marketing. Wearing logos from companies or political slogans is not my cup of tea.

I believe the best service that one can do for criterion is to lend your favorite criterion to a friend, family member or coworker. That is the reason why I have kept my old criterion DVDs. This is my humble opinion.

I don't think so haha. I think your best bet at getting it at a discount is to wait for a coupon or something.

The quote is also used by Jean-Luc Godard in Vivre Sa Vie which is a film of a prostitute, just so I "tie your post" with the main topic of the thread.

Vivre Sa Vie - one of my favorite criterion blu-ray releases.

Default La Dolce Vita

Does anyone know which U.S. company owns the rights to La Dolce Vita / do you guys think - they'll release it on Blu-ray this year?

Recently, it was released in Australia... so i just might end up importing it.

Paramount recently won a hard-fought legal battle over its copyright. No word on a release. I'd be surprised if they would bother going to the bother of a court case to just do nothing with it though
