Good news for me, though as I want to order all 3 whenever I cross them on Amazon's UK site.

You have the BFI Salo, though, right? Whats the quality like?
It's the best quality release I've ever come across of the film, in my opinion. It comes in fitted slide-in slipcase with a nice thick booklet, as well. Top notch presentation! It's Region-B, though, just so ya know.

By far, it's the release I go to more often when family comes over to visit.

Yeah, like I said earlier I modded my Oppo a few weeks back so I'm good to go for region locked titles and Salo was one of the ones I always eyeballed but never pulled the trigger on and I have a French DVD release so I'm not dying to see it.

Edit: Ha, my wife dumped me after I showed her parts of the old Criterion version back in the day...

I have a Samsung 50" Plasma-tv and a Panasonic-Blu-Ray-DMP-BD60 Region Free blu-ray player. All of my Region 2 BDs looks just fine, I just watched the Dark Knight the other day, and the IMAX sequences looks AMAZING on my TV. But know Ive played Kagemusha and Paris, Texas, both Criterion Region 1 releases. Most of the time it looked nice, but sometimes, especially in static pictures the picture got messed up. It looked pixelated, low-res, downloaded and really crappy. I really dont understand what the problem is.

My BD-player is from the states, so I would assume it originaly was a Region 1 player. Its hardware modified.

Does anybody know what to do?

I barely come to this thread anymore because of it and, as I pointed out, your love affair with GODARD (has my credibility risen?) could easily be attacked as being just as cliche as your attacks on Kurosawa.

And you dont have to say anything about GODARD because you have in other posts...and, well, its in your name...
Ok cut the drama or I'm going to send you both to timeout where you'll be forced to watch Transformers 2.

Like I said earlier, I don't have any problems with any of my Criterions on my Region-A PS3. Have you tried posted your problems in the Hardware section of these forums? Those guys in there might be able to address it as being your player's fault.

Does your family usually have still-born deer for Thanksgiving, Beta?

I just bought "M" yesterday on Blu-Ray. I am hoping it's going to be as awesome as I am hoping it to be. My expectations are very high for this film as it has been called by many people and film critics as one of the "best films of all time."
I am going to watch it tonight. Wish me luck!
It's possible that it disappoints the first time around. Tends to happen to me, with movies that are regarded as the 'best movie of all time'.
The third time I watched it, which was the Blu, I finally really appreciated it.

No.... but I saw it on the schedule.....

My brother is coming into town in the morning to help me do some plumbing/electrical for a bathroom renovation I'm doing, so he'll be here through Sunday...... My weekends are too busy for movie-going these days

Ahh, that's too bad. Part 1 was great. Should be a great show tonight.

Maybe Criterion will do Red Riding (IFC)?

borrow the 9th or 10th edition FREE (well technically your taxes have paid for this already) from your local library!

i have it because i use it go through complete filmographies of directors myself.

oh and amazon offers a free peek into the table of contents! SO that might be all you needed! ;

i've browsed many film history books and this is one of the very best.

Default B&N GSA 20% off code not working!!

I just tried the GSA code for 20% off of "M" and it said: "Your order does not qualify for coupon GSA1020. You may remove it or replace it with another coupon."

Granted 23.22 is still a good deal on this blu-ray, but i would like the extra 20% off as i am broke! What gives?? It said on the link that it expires June 1st.

Do you have to be a member?
