I actually look like him in that photo, hence my love for it. Ironically, CC puts out the movie too, how sad of me. If I was his age though, then I could have played Molly Ringwald's dad. Now that would have been interesting.

I want to take this time to thank any and everyone that knows I joke, have fun, and yes have strong opinions and will welcome anyone that has strong opinions too. I don't bash people on their opinions. I may argue those opinions (since it is a forum), but never bash the person. So I thank you all that knows I don't mean any harm to a person, it's a forum, have fun, argue opinions, and have more fun. Thanks.

CG, that heartfelt thought almost brings a tear to my eye. One of these days, I will share my Lou Reed story with you, since you are such a fan.

A nice guy, had a short convo with him and some others. My buddy worked in the record biz for a while. Met him in 90' with some people from Sire. He was promoting an album. New York, if I remember correctly.

Awesome. His interviews and stuff always make him seem like a down to earth guy that doesn't take alot of crap but still very cool. It would be very cool to meet him.

He is starting to direct films, with his first film "Red Shirley" about his cousin on the eve of her 100th B-day. Nothing really to look out for, but something cool to prob check out one day.

I just finished watching "M" and I loved it 10/10! One thing, the movie didn't have any credits?

Are you talking about end credits? That is some Hollywood crap they do. So don't worry. Plus it came out in 1931. As you watch more older non-Hollywood films, you will see what I mean.

If you order a replacement case for $5. Do you get an email to confirm they are shipping it to you?

regarding the films they licensed from dvd, and the deal about Criterion having to go back to Paramount and renegotiate for "DaysOHeaven", my question would be why would it be so hard to go back and renegotiate for the other films they wanted to release on blu?
I mean it's not like Paramount is going to want to release those silent films on blu.
why can't Criterion and these other studios enter into profit sharing agreements on these type of releases?
We all know that Paramount has tons of amazing films that they will never release on blu.
I want to see Criterion try to release some of those if possible.
Altman's "Nashville" would be my first suggestion.
the dvd is beyond wretched. It is one of the worst dvds I have ever seen, and is basically unwatchable.
I see that film on greatest movie lists all the time.
I don't think in 100 years Paramount will be releasing that on blu so Criterion needs to release it if it ever going to exist on a watchable home video version.
I want to see Criterion work towards identifying those older classic American studio releases that will most likely never come to blu, and work towards releasing them.
They are basically imo the only hope for these films.
there must be some way to get these other studios to agree to a profit sharing agreement on films they never intend to release on blu.

BREATHLESS BLU-RAY
FISH TANK BLU-RAY
THE THIN RED LINE BLU-RAY
Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN BLU-RAY
STILL WALKING BLU-RAY
ANTICHRIST BLU-RAY
CHAPLIN FILMS

CRONOS
HAUSU
THE FOUR FEATHERS

Stuff that was rumored BUT WAS NEVER CONFIRMED by Criterion:

DARJEELING LIMITED BLU-RAY
VIDEODROME BLU-RAY
I don't see all the Chaplin films making it out this Fall. That would be quite the massive box set. I do see many of them being Blu, though, and while not confirmed, I'd be shocked if Hausu doesn't get a Blu. Following, Cronos, and The Four Feathers - more likely DVD only.

To tell you the truth Arkadin, Criterion prob never asked for blu rights, due to them thinking silents don't sell well, as you can see by them not giving a crap about releasing silents. They prob thought they could make enough money on dvds and no one would complain about a blu for silents. Boy were they wrong. This is part of the business side of Criterion that I don't like, and alot of people are e-mailing them about this issue with the silents. I am thinking about doing it, even though I will buy the dvd if a blu doesn't happen.

We would need to step up and tell Criterion in large numbers that we are ready for a change to mostly blu, because they know that dvd is still selling.

Yeah I would like a Hausu blu too, but not yet confirmed and MOC didn't do one either, so it doesn't look too good looking at it that way. I just put "Chaplin films" because I don't know how many will come this year, but I am sure atleast 1 or 2 will.
