You are too quick. I was working on the post. Actually the info that came through is for a DVD release.

Yes the Eclipse sets are all packaged in a similar fashion. Outer cardboard slipcover and thin clear plastic cases for each individual film.

Thanks. I imagine just about anything that already came out on Eclipse will never come out on Blu anyway and since there are some Eclipse films I really want I may as well pick them up. Most of them can be found on Amazon Marketplace new for around $30-$45 which sounds reasonable. Anyone find them cheaper elsewhere?

Fine. Added the colors with the technical specs. Unless something is moved to Blu-ray later on, this is what we have at the moment:

1. ECLIPSE SERIES 23: THE FIRST FILMS OF AKIRA KUROSAWA - SDVD
2. Crumb - Blu-ray
3. LOUIE BLUIE - SDVD
4. BLACK ORPHEUS Blu-ray
5. L’ENFANCE NUE SDVD
6. Three Silent Classics by Josef Von Sternberg SDVD

I'm sure it's been posted..... but at 30% off, people might want to jump on the "Thin Red Line" pre-order while it's still 'cheap'

You can get the Chantal Akerman Eclipse set for $36 on Criterion's site, but I don't know if that one is of interest for you.

And I'm only $129 worth of purchases at Criterion's website from getting a $50 credit too. I might order a few reasonably priced sets from them.

I got about $200 to go to get $50. With the end of May releases and June releases, I would prob get the $50, which I will use to pay part of a dvd boxset of something from past years I haven't got yet.

The information is what we receive from the official press release from the PR rep for Criterion.

Definitely strike in the next B/N 50% off sale or Deep Discount 45% off sale. They all (With the exception of Postwar Akira Kurosawa and Nikkatsu) go under $20, the AK and Nikkatsu were like $23 I think. But they ranged from $11.99 to $17.99 during the sale.

But these Eclipse Series sets are so worth it! I want to get them all (well, with the exception of the two music ones).

I've been sitting on my $50 for a couple months now. I also want to use it on a boxset, but I've been waiting to see if Criterion has another sale first. If June comes and goes without another sale, I'm thinking of going for either the BRD Trilogy or Three Films by Hiroshi Teshigahara. Kinda want both though...

Three Films by Hiroshi Teshigahara is one that I want as well. Don't know if that will be it when the time comes (because I can get some during a B&N sale, if one happens) but it is one I want.

Oh Wow...

"Crumb" on Blu-Ray, and as a Criterion release to top it off?

What a wonderful suprise.

Instant addition to my top 10 Criterions easily.

Eh... seemed too good to be true. Still hoping for the Pialat, of course... wouldn't be the first time they added a BD version of a title post facto.

This is part of the business side of Criterion that I don't like, and alot of people are e-mailing them about this issue with the silents. I am thinking about doing it, even though I will buy the dvd if a blu doesn't happen.

We would need to step up and tell Criterion in large numbers that we are ready for a change to mostly blu, because they know that dvd is still selling.
Or they licensed the Paramount films in 2007 at a time before they had even released any Blu-rays.

That is a great deal.

I would also suggest JEANNE DIELMAN, 23, QUAI DU COMMERCE, 1080 BRUXELLES I would pay 100.00 for a blu of that . I won't hold my breath, you never know what could ever get a HD release. At 201mins. I am left wishing there was more.
