I don't think he is a "swell fella", I just think people needs to look in the mirror before judging others (and I'm not talking about the average American when I say that).

But I stop about all of this, because I didn't bring the discussion up, just wanted to discuss why the funding was a problem. Thats all Beta.

Also I am just waiting until my Oshima set gets here.

Yep, I realize you don't hate the film. I was just pointing out my likes/dislikes and that perhaps people have trouble liking Che b/c its hard to keep an open mind. And how much one is educated seems to matter little. Many scholars have opposing views on him. Of course, they could point fingers and say the other persons opinion isn't valid, etc, but the other side could use the same argument. But overall, I did like the film and its grown on me. At first, I was like "meh.." but now I'll probably buy it.

I know that most of the anti-fans of this film never seen or will not see it. It's their views and it's fine with me. Like I have said before on here, I have strong views, but I don't want to force someone to watch or not watch something. Che is a good film, experimental in a way using the RED camera, but it is no way one of my fav releases of this year, by a long shot. It is rewatchable though, I have seen it twice last year, then once on Criterion's blu.

I know the legitimacy of the "leaked" Criterion titles via Amazon has been taken into question, but I'll just throw this out there.....

I checked Amazon just now, and in my goldbox "quick-picks" are several Criterion pre-orders without artwork of course....... The MSRP they give is the part that I find most interesting....

So what was it that you didn't like, just thought the dialogue could have been better? I thought the transformation of Che was done extremely well, while still adhering to a code. Considering the source material, I thought they did a great job being subjective (again...considering the source material). I do wish there was a middle part to this story portrayed.

I hated the Motorcycle Diaries when I first saw it. I told the wife I'd give it another try, but the unwatched movies are piling up.

Very slow and well... boring at times. I thought the UN clips randomly throughout served little purpose. And yes, I do think the middle part, namely Che's involvement in the Congo was a missing link.

Let me know what you guys think after you watch it. Each film in that set definitely makes for great discussion. But the only thing I recommend is watch it in order.

They do have 111,000 feedback though

I see the "Storefront" but can't pull any matches by searching "Criterion" or simply "DVD" or "Box Set"

Is there a way to filter on just one seller????

I was going to ask the same thing about that seller. I was browsing the Eclipse sets and for just $48 shipped I can buy four very good sets. Sounds too good to be true but the seller does have over 100,000 feedback with 94% positive so they sound legit. Guess it's worth a shot.
