I've been interested in expanding the directors I watch. I haven't seem anything from Satiyaj Ray or Michelangelo Antonioni and want to explore these two. Not all of their work appeals to me though. Especially Antonioni. However La Notte and Red Desert are ones I'll be getting. Criterion's La Notte gets my money but I'm unsure of which release of Red Desert to get and would like some advice.
They both seem to be excellent releases and I prefer the BFI colour scheme over Criterion's however it's mentioned that the Criterion transfer may be sharper... On that subject why do Criterion always seem to have a much redder/browner colour scheme for certain titles that have a bluer/greener transfer in Europe? It's bizarre because it's happened multiple times. Examples I can think of off the top of my head are Melville's work, Belle De Jour, Red Desert and Identification of a woman. There may be others but my point is that it's a regular occurance. |

As noted above, I have gone through my "To Buy List" and added the following to my cart in anticipation of the sale:
Summer Hours The Double Life of Veronique Elevator to the Gallows The Great Beauty - (If it does not discount I may still buy due but not direct) Branded to Kill ![]() |

All previous flash sales have started at 12pm EST, so it would be safer to add the titles a few hours before that time if you want to order immediately. |

I don't remember if the regular prices go to $40, but the sale usually works with a code you have to put for the discount to apply, so when you use the code the price goes to half of MSRP, so yeah they end up being $20

Titles are always 50% off MSRP, you need $50 for free shipping and they charged me tax last time. It is the best deal outside of the B&N sale to me, because if you order digipacks or box sets they ship them excellently. Last time I ordered 2 box sets and they were pristine when they arrived in tight, secure boxes.

I recall last time I put the code in too early (before all my items were in the cart?), and one of them did not get the discount. Got an adjustment afterwards, but your post reminded me that I need to be on my toes for this next sale.
