Well then.. sign me up! :-) But seriously, why wait and wait and wait and hope... plus I've heard so many good things about the Vampyr dvd release already, so why not?

On a side note... anyone else, who if course isn't buying while at work, setup a "meeting" from 11:30-12:30 so they won't be disturbed during "lunch?"

I'm actually conducting a scheduled audit during that time, but I doubt that the releases I have in mind will sell out anytime soon. If they do, then it just wasn't meant to be.

Well that sounds fun! ;-) And a great attitude to have about the sale as well. Have fun today!

The Darjeeling Limited isn't his best film, that's for sure, but IMO it's his most attractive one. Definitely worth watching for the way it looks at least.

Thanks

When I do a dummy run on criterion.com it uses the normal postage cost so I will take it as being under 3lbs.

I received a huge box of film noir DVDs yesterday from Amazon.

House on Telegraph Hill
Kiss of Death
14 Hours
Shock
Dangerous Crossing
The House on 92nd Street
Call Northside 777
No Way Out
Moontide
Road House
Somewhere in the Night
Vicki
Pitfall
Columbia Pictures Film Noir Classics I box set (The Big Heat/5 Against the House/The Lineup/Murder By Contract/The Sniper)
Columbia Pictures Film Noir Classics II box set (Human Desire/The Brothers Rico/Nightfall/City of Fear/Pushover)

When I grab the Criterion DVD of Pickup on South Street from the flash sale, then that will fit right into the above stack.

With the above, as well as the five Warner Brothers Film Noir Classic Collection sets, the TCM Dark Crimes set, the Controversial Classics Collection set, and the rest of the Fox Film Noir series that I have at home, I've delved as far into the film noir rabbit hole as I probably should when it comes to DVDs.

I already own all of the existing region A film noirs available on Blu-ray, but there's a big hefty batch of them coming out in April that I'll be ready to grab.

Wow... first nice stash of new purchases. A lot of good films in there I need to see myself. Does look like you are way down the rabbit hole with the nori dvds, but that's never a bad thing. And the Columbia box sets look amazing! There's just so much good stuf out there...

As for having all the region A on blu-ray, is there a master noir list, or is that something you cobbled together yourself? Just curious.

Cool... was going to pickup the bare bones CC release today, but i've decided to just hold off until the expanded edition comes out, and just watch it on Netflix.

Glad I could help. I seldom watch a film more than once a year, so this route is the way to go for me too. Ive got the day off from work, so I think I'll watch it in a few.

I remember getting an email, but had already hit refresh on the page to get the new home page announcing the sale. I'm sure they blast it to Twitter and FB as well.

Yeah, I wish I could say it saved me money, but I just added a t-shirt instead. But thanks.. I had forgotten that Netflix was going to add it streaming today. Between it and Hulu, why do I need to buy?? Oh yeah, the special features!

MifuneFan has compiled an excellent list in this thread...

Official Film Noir on Blu-ray Thread

It's tough to pin down a master list, because the definition of film noir as a genre is rather elusive, but this thread includes all of the releases penned by this site as belonging to the film noir genre, and it also includes an impressive list of neo-noirs in the format.

I bought all of my film noir Blu-rays before that thread was started, but I simply scanned film noir site lists and such to assemble my collection. The above thread matches my own collection quite well.

This is Criterion-related, by the way, since several titles appear on that list.
