Official Film Noir on Blu-ray Thread

It's tough to pin down a master list, because the definition of film noir as a genre is rather elusive, but this thread includes all of the releases penned by this site as belonging to the film noir genre, and it also includes an impressive list of neo-noirs in the format.

I bought all of my film noir Blu-rays before that thread was started, but I simply scanned film noir site lists and such to assemble my collection. The thread matches my own collection quite well.
Thanks! I figured it would be something hard to do, seeing as how wide the genre can be. Appreciate the link to the thread. And thanks to MifuneFan for setting up the thread!

Columbia Pictures Film Noir Classics I box set (The Big Heat/5 Against the House/The Lineup/Murder By Contract/The Sniper)
Columbia Pictures Film Noir Classics II box set (Human Desire/The Brothers Rico/Nightfall/City of Fear/Pushover)

When I grab the Criterion DVD of Pickup on South Street from the flash sale, then that will fit right into the above stack.

With the above, as well as the five Warner Brothers Film Noir Classic Collection sets, the TCM Dark Crimes set, the Controversial Classics Collection set, and the rest of the Fox Film Noir series that I have at home, I've delved as far into the film noir rabbit hole as I probably should when it comes to DVDs.

I already own all of the existing region A film noirs available on Blu-ray, but there's a big hefty batch of them coming out in April that I'll be ready to grab.
What about the Hammer Film Noir sets on DVD? No interest in those?

I forgot to list those, but the two Collector's Sets are on their way as well.

I wish that Hammer would upgrade more of their older flicks to Blu-ray.

I've got the Icons of Suspense set somewhere in the closet. Cash on Demand is a great noir-edged feature.

Buying Hammer movies on blu ray is the primary reason I finally bought a multiregion blu ray player. Lots of the classics released in UK and Australia. Think we're up to 2 pre-1970s titles in Region A.

What are the aspect ratio's for the films in that set? Amazon lists 1:33 but I don't go by Amazon.

I can check when I get home but 1:33 is def not right. I want to say its a mix of 2:35 and 1:66, all anamorphic.

All 3 of the Columbia Icons sets are anamorphic video.

Are there just the Vol 1-3 and the Vol 4 Hammer sets? Looks like that is what I could find on amazon, etc...

They're widescreen. I remember Never Take Candy from a Stranger in 2:35:1, but there are a couple in 1.66.

The two Hammer Collector's Sets include all of the films in the double feature volumes. Look for the two big sets with multiple movies.

I checked yesterday to find out how we were notified of the sale last time...

at 12 PM EST, (11 CST for me) on the nose, they sent an email saying that there will be a 24 hour flash sale and they provided the promotional code. So, if you are on their mailing list, I would assume that we'd all be notified that way. If not on the mailing list, I guess count on it being at that time. someone yesterday mentioned that it will go down at this same time, as well.

going to pick up Foreign Correspondent, Au Revoir les Enfants, and Breathless. tempted to pick up Jules and Jim as it is truly a haunting beautiful film. I didn't like it the first time I saw it, but have grown to appreciate it just reflecting back on it. I HATED Jeanne Moreau in the movie. I should have known better - me hating her just means that she kicked serious a##. for my money, she's definitely one of the top actresses represented in the collection.

If they are all anamorphic and in their OAR, I'm ordering.

I do not have the Columbia Film Noir sets volumes III or IV. Volume III is way expensive right now ($150 from third party dealers), and I just haven't got around to buying IV.

It'll be a while before I hit those (if I can).

I'm always curious how many Criterion types are in maintenance mode and would answer the "what are you getting?" question with: "whatever was released since the last sale".

Anyone have, or have seen and of the films in the Eclipse Series 33: Up All Night with Robert Downey Sr. set? They look quite interesting, and I've heard very mixed reviews about his films... but they seems like something I could get into. Any help, suggestions, etc??

Curious as to how many Criterion employees are watching us now and laughing.... twirling their evil handlebar moustaches, laughing maniacally, "muahahahahaha"
