I thought I was done, but I ended up going in for a second big order. Mostly upgrades of DVDs I have/had (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, Antichrist, Le Havre) and a few other (Trilogy of Life, Something Wild, Design for Living, Harold and Maude). Which put me to getting my $50 credit, which I used for Down by Law and La vie de boheme. Oops.

(It's Criterion-related because Juliette Binoche stars in the movie, of course.)
I cannot wait, although my avatar kinda gives my excitement away!

I'm a massive fan of everything Godzilla (except the 1998 version) and I love the tone they are going for, one of my most anticipated films of the year.

Thief
The Thin Red Line
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp

The last one is a blind buy with zero knowledge of the film except that it's decent.

The trailers have been utterly fantastic, (the tone, music, imagery all amazing) and with that cast I really hope it delivers.

I hate to admit it but it's a guilty pleasure.

I hope you get to order it when you get the chance, it's one of my favorite films of all time. It still disturbs and frightens after every viewing, the original Gojira of course.

It's a decent monster movie, but it isn't Godzilla.

I completely agree, I love the apocalyptic feel.

There will be a TCM Classic Film Festival showing of a "newly restored" Godzilla for its 60-year anniversary.

I'm curious about the restoration, and about how it compares to what we have here on Criterion. If anybody has additional info, I'd appreciate it.

Just rewatched Blue Is The Warmest Color.

I definitely enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. Definitely a hard hitting film about growing up and dealing with the world.

Highly recommended.

Caved and went back for Following and Safety Last! Then I added Blue Is The Warmest Color to get the free shipping. Guess I'm gonna double dip when the special edition comes out.

I was weak and went back....

Eclipse 33 - Up All Night with Robert Downey Sr.
Eclipse 35 - Maidstone and Other Films by Norman Mailer
Hopscotch

All DVD releases but those Eclipse Series are so damn good!

9 total films, $55(ish).

One and done:

Night of the Hunter-I hate being poor or, more truthfully, toeing the household budget line.

On a side note-I got a reply from John Mulvaney for a couple of title suggestions I made. It was the stock reply but came just one day after I made them.

I typically skip these sales since I can always get at least a bit cheaper at the B&N sales, but I've been wanting a Janus films mug and didn't want to pay shipping so I bought a few titles and the mug:

Blue Is the Warmest Color
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Foreign Correspondent

Placed one order for:

Les Visiteurs Du Soir

Children of Paradise (Yes, I know about the DNR. Shame.)

The Complete Jean Vigo

The Music Room (Already have Charulata and The Big City)

Now I will just spend my time day dreaming about winning the golden ticket grand prize until my order arrives.

Couldn't order Thief or Foreign Correspondent, so I wound up ordering:

La vie de Bohème
Marketa Lazarová
Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project

I seem to have Quadrophenia on my mind right now, and I came close to ordering it, but I'm still not sure if it's one I really wanted to own. Might just rent it again, see if I like it better on a second viewing.

I got Foreign Correspondent, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, and Fantastic Mr. Fox during the flash sale. As well as a 5-pack of extra cases. Not a bad day.

I highly recommend it. (Based on the posts in the thread since noon, looks like a lot of you will be getting it!)
Yes, Thief is a new favorite of mine. Good to see you like it too.
