I just got the shipping notice for yesterday's order (Design for Living, I Married a Witch, Blast of Silence, Pickup on South Street). Nice!

I enjoyed Blue is the Warmest Color at the theater, especially the Pandora's Box reference during the party scene. It's a fantastic-looking movie across the board. I'm holding out for the upcoming special edition, though, to see what additional bells and whistles they can throw our way.

Anyone that bought Blue is the Warmest Color on sale can use the plastic case to slip in the disc from the forthcoming edition. Sell off the DVD's, barebones blu-ray and hope the new edition is only 1 blu-ray.

You get the version you want (in plastic case) and should break even after selling off the dvd and original blu.

Now, my first order was 586xxx at 12:02. Second order this morning was order number a high 639xxx, at 8:46am. Neither has shipped.

So 53,000 orders or more, if it is sequentially. And they stiill had 3+ hours to go. Pretty nice day for Criterion if you ask me...

"Never tell me the odds." Sorry, couldn't resist.

Anyway, wonder if the smaller orders are getting shipped first since they are easier to fill?? Just thoughts going through my head now...

Sorry Han

I am going to resign myself to the fact that I won't get my order until The Great Beauty is released. No worries as I have plenty to go at until then.

60,000 orders at around $50 minimum to avoid shipping cost

we just gave CC a minimum of 3 millions i am sure is much more since there were some big orders too.

I am not sure the numbers work that way. I placed an order in February of 2012 and it was 256288. My order yesterday was 592459. That would mean that in two years (which includes other flash sales) they only had 336,171 orders, yet they had 60,000 yesterday? Doesn't seem right to me, but who knows

3 titles per order to get the free shipping plus some BIG orders.

Say 10% were 10 or more and the rest 3 titles. That is over 222000 copies shifted minimum.

Who knows, but their prices are very high without sales, and there are many other sales from B&N so i guess not that many people order directly on regular days.

There are a hundred billion people in this world, and only 20 of them will find Golden Tickets. Even if you had a sackful of money, you probably wouldn't find one. And after this contest is over, you'll be no different from the billions of others who didn't find one.

Going off what you read here, Amazon, B&N and other online retailers seem to be the popular means of buying. Not often Criterion direct is mentioned bar the Flash sales.

Looks like Criterion knows how to build a website better than Health and Human Services. (Sorry, couldn't resist)

No worries... (they need a wookie emoticon)

and yeah, i remember seeing something about grouping for free shipping items, but don't know if it applied to items not yet released. Good luck on that one, hope you get them soon. Maybe someone else has a better answer.
