Nah, I was contemplating the film itself.

I rented the UK version back when I was still living there. I remember it looked/sounded okay, but I figured the Criterion version would suit me the best; it looks like it has the better quality. IF I decide I want it.

I got the deluxe edition of the soundtrack earlier this year. It's awesome.

Well okay then.

Maybe next time; I missed out on this sale, and I bought enough already.

I just watched Breathless for the first time and I absolutely loved it.

It's disappointing to me that I've waited this long to see it, but I'm glad that I finally got around to it, nonetheless.

For the first time?

I can't wait to get the Blu-ray, I kept kicking myself when it was rumored to be out-of-print forever.

Yup! Now I've seen a total of three films: Band of Outsiders, Breathless, and Vivre Sa Vie (plus a handful of shorts).

I'm in the boat of buying it the last time the rumor mill went around about it going oop. I have it onm y shelf, just haven't popped it in the blu-ray player yet.... and now I've got more to watch. I feel like I'll never catch up.

those are the 3 I've seen! I haven't seen Breathless in ages and have only seen it once so I am really looking forward to seeing it again. I can't comment on how 'out there' his later films are but I'm intrigued by all of the 60's titles. which one is next for you, Scottie? I really wanna see Pierrot le Fou.

Hmm.. post seems familiar. I think we were once on the same page w/ Kurosawa films a few months back.

I have Contempt, Pierrot Le Fou, Un Femme Mariee, and Week End to watch, but I'll more than likely watch Pierrot Le Fou next, as it seems like the one I'll enjoy the most.

Speaking of Kurosawa, I still haven't seen Seven Samurai!

I haven't either. so we are embarrassed together, I guess. Ikiru ended up taking the title of "my favorite criterion film (so far)" I recommend that one wholeheartedly. My new avatar is from Ikiru.

All those Godard films you mentioned are on my list, too, along with A Woman is a Woman.

They are sequential in spine numbers though (#429 and 430), so that might be it.
[Show spoiler]Well, The Lovers is about lovers, having sex, the O being symbolic there and The Fire Within is about a man contemplating suicide, X-ing himself out, I guess. But like you said they were paired releases and it's not so strange to see paired releases have complimentary artwork. See: the Dardenne brothers releases, Summer Interlude/With Monika, the French Ophuls films. As far as the films being connected? No not really. They're not even sequential Louis Malle films (Zazie dans le Metro and the absolutely atrocious Vie privée being between them).

It's truly embarrassing how many films I haven't seen.

Thanks man, I've heard nothing but great things about it.

It's just a matter of me being in the mood to sit for three and a half straight hours.

It's one of the fastest films that I have ever seen, goes by like a flash for me. Still, that doesn't change that it's 3.5 hours!

I would watch it all the time if it wasn't that length.

The Criterion Blu-ray of it was my first Criterion disc, and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because it's one amazing package, and I hate it because it started the Criterion addiction.
